That's saddening
The character of Yamini is there until the end in Ask I Memnu. So her making posts about last day of shoot shows they have really decided to end it once & for all & what scares me more is maybe they have gone for a different ending. And that makes me so angry
Star should have given Rehaana a chance.Although there have been hints about them falling in love but their story hadn't started ,that is until the last two episodes. Both the scenes were very good & like you mentioned really caught the attention of viewers which showed in increased activity on this forum as well as on other social networking sites. What makes it more unfair is that Aashim & Smriti look really good together & going by their scenes,I was positive they would make a great pair & bring out the passionate love story of Bihter & Behlul really well.Star plugging the show just when their part of the story, the major arc of the story (that would decide the fate of these characters )was getting started is completely thoughtless & disappointing
The show had so much potential & now all of it goes to waste
So much work put in by the actors, the writers & everyone involved only to nullify all the work they have been doing for the past 3 months
All of the actors sure must be really disappointed & sad about this even when they are trying to put up a brave face & smile through it ,trying to put up posts.Cause life goes on & you can't have one incident such as this bring you down like it's a big deal
But it is in fact a big deal,a much bigger deal than the viewers saying the show better stop if it isn't going to end up with Ahana & Anant as the endgame realise
Trps have been for years destroying Indian TV slowly & steading clawing away every inch of vitality, quality & creativity that the medium has to offer.
They put tremendous pressure on producers of shows to deliver the trps or else risk getting axed. That translates into channel making them incorporate storylines which they think will up the numbers & that's not just a one time thing but the norm.So much so viewers end up watching a story so convoluted & messy making it barely recognisable from when the show is launched with the show delivering none of the things it promised in the first place
Not just that channels keep prolonging a show if it gives high numbers for years together even when the show has nothing to offer
All of this might seem harmless but is in fact inflicting severe damage on the entertainment industry.
This constant interference of channels to tweak the storyline ,axing shows before they even get started puts a lot of pressure on everyone involved in making a show.It not only constitutes an infringement of their freedom of expression, acting as a restraint on their creative freedom but also the frustration that it creates for the creative team affects their job satisfaction as well
And it is not just them. The audience suffers too with us having to put up with mediocre content & being deprived of quality entertainment just because the channels can't have enough of the advertising revenues pouring in
Am not saying they should be making compromises with respect to their revenues cause they are commercial entities with a primarily profit motive but somewhere there is a need to strike a balance, find some middle ground bringing the much needed relief to the creative people who have had to deal with resentment, failure & frustration for far too long
And so like I said before,it's time for all the stakeholders to unite in order to bring about the much needed, much called for change. For too long have they been suffering in silence bearing witness to channels getting away with what I would call " Plain Bad TV " .Hence the need to act & fast. And in case they are clueless as to where to start they might want to take a leaf from the strike called by the writers' guild in the US a few years back
