With today's episode I have come to realize that this road track is being stretched for 2 reasons. One is obviously TRPs. It's being milked either by the PH or the channel or both. But the other is a more symbolic reason. A road is a path. It's a journey. It is change. And that's exactly what it is indicating. The journey, the changes, the path of the characters.
Anami - She's going from stubborn and arrogant to thoughtful and emotional. The old Anami would have forced Adhiraj to speak about his mother and father and then would have spoken about her "wisdom" demeaning whatever Adhiraj said. But not this Anami. This Anami is careful. She knows when to stop pushing. She knows to trust Adhiraj. She showed sense when she asked Pathaks to meet her somewhere else. That's her journey. When she returns she'll be more receptive. She'll also be more understanding and thoughtful.
Adhiraj - He's gone from law-abiding to law-breaking. But more than that he's gone from being a lawman to being a friend, a caretaker, a protector, and a Krishna. He's no longer worried about going outside law. He knows he can lose his job for what he's doing. He knows he can lose Anami forever. But he's well above that now. Somewhere I'm also scared now though. The way things are happening I fear that Adhiraj may die in his bid to protect his loved ones. But let's see.
Narottam - His journey was almost complete well before this road trip started, but still he's made a journey as well. He's gone from being just Sudha's son to just being Anami's brother. He protected Anami and helped her escape not because of Sudha's plan, but because he wanted her to be safe. Even today his heart wasn't with Sudha, it was with Anami. My heart goes out to Narottam. I want him to be loved. I want him to be cared for. He has faced too much misery in his short life. Now he should only see happiness.
Satrupa - She's gone from the LM bahu to the mother. She hasn't lost the bahu completely. It's still there. But she's more mother today than she ever was. But she still has a long way to go because she doesn't see her wrongs. She only sees Anami's wrongs. She only sees Adhiraj's wrongs. She thinks Gayatri and Vikram are wrong to question her. The day she realizes her wrongs is the day she will become a full mother. But this is her journey. Her trip. Her change.
Vikram - Vikram has undergone a change as well. Maybe not so much on this trip, but this trip has brought it out. The old Vikram wouldn't have given 2 hoots on Anami running away. Today, he is sad. He had hopes from Anami that have been shattered. He wants her to be safe, but he also wants her back.
Baldev - He may show indifference, but he has become a father to Anami. When Sudha spoke, it hurt him because he cares about his children. He loves them both. And he does feel that Satrupa is the reason for them being driven away. His indifference was his cover so that he wouldn't be hurt the day Anami left. But he was unable to keep it for too long. And this road trip is bringing it out. He blames Satrupa and Sudha is fueling that very fire.
Gayatri - Gayatri hasn't seen as much of a change, but I will still comment on her because she's important. Gayatri has become Satrupa's full mean mother-in-law through this trip. She cared and loved Anami and she knows that Anami wouldn't just run away for a small reason because Vatsalya meant so much to Anami. She knows Satrupa is behind Anami's escape somehow. And in that way she has finally become Satrupa's proper mother-in-law. She blames Satrupa, she questions Satrupa, and she warns Satrupa. It's a small change, but nonetheless it's there.
Sudha - Finally Sudha. I leave her to the end because her change is subtle, but it's there. The old Sudha would have been subtle. She would throw snide remarks, but not confront Satrupa. She would talk behind Baldev's back knowing full well he's there, but never to his face. This journey is bringing the real Sudha out. When Anami returns, Sudha will have dropped all pretences of being an abla nari. She will be out in the open. Nothing will be hidden. This will no longer be a battle that is played out in the minds, but it will be an open battle. Because Sudha has made it as such.
