I finally saw the episode today.
I enjoyed Zain's performance quite a lot today.
The subtlety he showed as Neil, the varied expressions and the transition of all those expressions were absolutely wonderful.
Right from the start when he enters his cabin and sees Avni there, he is in his cop mode not wanting to give away anything. He does not let his cop veneer fade as he removes the tracker from Avni.
As she walks away, he knows she is hurt because of the tracker and his expression softens.
He shows his weariness about hiding things when he says to her that he wants to share so many things with her.
When Avni enters his cabin again in the pretext of cleaning, he is on the phone with Neela, he his shifty wanting to hide things from her.
When Avni starts with OMG, he at first feels conscious that there is something on his face.
Then his expression changes to that of vulnerability when she starts questioning about him looking old because of hiding things.
when she continues to push, he immediately goes to his teasing/taunting approach to get an upper hand and starts teasing her about the other woman.
Zain then shows how Neil is taken aback when Avni implies that he is involved in something illegal and that she can read his face.
At first he stays taken aback and then again goes to his teasing mode.
when avni pulls him with all the Haq, he is lost in her for a while like the old Neil and then his expression again changes and he intentionally becomes mean again implying that he considers her a criminal.
He knows that that is the only way he can make her angry and completely throw her off.
When she walks away hurt by his comment, he feels (and Zain shows) remorse.
all the scenes that Zain had today with Aditi were wonderful because of his subtle expressions and smooth transition of his emotions.
I just love how Zain does this so effortlessly without being OTT.
I find this so natural about his acting.
