It is indeed true.
For Avni, the connection with Ayesha is from the bond of the womb, and when Ayesha died, Avni was 12. That's not an age where you forget things, instead, girls start gaining maturity around that time, and for Avni, due to her own childhood, maturity came way earlier.
So even today, for her, every sadness, happiness, still begins with Ayesha.
It doesn't mean she doesn't value Neela.
She never questions Neela and has given her the full rights of a mom and she calls her Maa too.
We cannot compare her love for Neela and Ayesha, because it is a different kind of love she has for both.
