This year, the south industry has not only
displayed its penchant for varied content,
but has also established its supremacy in
more ways than one! South has clearly taken
over Bollywood in 2017 and there are so
many instances to prove that. While
Baahubali: The Conclusion is primarily the
reason for South's grand success, IMDb's
Top Indian movies of 2017 makes us believe
there are other films down south to savour
as well. In a surprising turn of events,
Vikram Vedha dethroned Baahubali to
become the number one film on the list. The
position is well deserved so! Although
Baahubali was a grander and bigger film,
cop gangsta film, Vikram Vedha starring
Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi was the
better film! The movie was hugely praised
for its gripping plot, unexpected twists and
lead duo's crackling chemistry. Based n the
famous folklore of Vikram and Bethaal, the
movie garnered much acclaim form fans and
critics. Also Read: Vikram Vedha movie

blow you away with their class acting and
chemistry in this gripping thriller
As for Baahubali, the film rocked on all
fronts Ever since its release, the film has
been flooded with positive reviews and let's
not get to Box office The movie right form
day 1 has been breaking records. It went on
to become the first film to enter the Rs 1000
crore club. SS Rajamouli was lauded for his
grand concept. Prabhas went on to become
a worldwide sensation.
Vikram Vedha won over fans for its
compelling story, Baahubali 2 won them for
its grandeur concept and then there was
Arjun Reddy that won over admirers for its
sheer unconventionality. Arjun Reddy's bold
portrayal of a self destructive medical
student made everyone sit up. The film had
its share of controversies for its
outspokenness but the movie was talked
about nonetheless.
Other south films that made to this list are
Thalapathy Vijay's Mersal, another
blockbuster of this year that starred the
Tmail actor in a triple role. The Ghazi attack
a one of a kind submarine war based film
that had a unusual true story to tell. And
then there's Malayalam film, The Great
Father starring Mammootty. The film was
prasied for its masala moments and for the
endearing father-daughter films.

Baahubali was an experience but I prefer part 1 over part 2

Vikram Vedha was a well made film. Maddy and Vijay Sethupathy were just perfect for this film and they were terrific in it.

One hell of a movie

Arjun Reddy is CULT. The youth loved it

Great father and Ghazi attack were good too
