If this is true, I'm really disgusted! 🤢

Edited for clarification's sake: I am not disgusted that it's an adaptation from a book or movie or whatsoever. The main problem was that this Indian writer developed the 'characters, motives, plotlines, and a story synopsis" for Hichki and Siddharth Malhotra presented the writer's work as his own and did not even acknowledge/ credit the writer or even bother to inform the writer that his script was finally being made into a movie. The writers deserve acknowledgement for the work they put in. Taking someone's work and not crediting the writer for the effort they put in is plagiarism. This is the plagiarism I'm talking about, not that it's an adaptation. This is the main issue I was talking about and wanted to raise awareness about. That producers and PHs in their greed for glory and money, engage in such unethical practices.

Its a ditto copy of "Front of the Class" a Hallmark movie based on a true story. In the actual story Brad Cohen, a guy, has Tourettes and becomes a successful teacher. Siddhart was trying to get Abhishek and Imraan Hashmi on board but they rejected the movie after which he changed the gender and brought it to Adi.

The movie is based on book "Front of the class" written by Brad Cohen. YRF have acquired the right of the original book. The Hollywood movie "Front of the Class" too was based on the book.

Why am I feeling this thread is camouflaged to troll Hitchki the poster 🤣.

On top why get disgusted because a movie is copied, ush hisab she toh you must be getting everyday because every(almost!) BW movie is copied.

even after 10 back to back flops..emraan is actually getting movies and above all rejecting movies..

i am glad it came to rani..she is a brilliant actor and with emraan doing it..it would have been a little B gradish..

Dont know how it becomes this Guy's story if its based on Brad Cohen's book...

But the thumb rule for any type of freelance art work, is to never give the final draft to your client before you make a contract or get some advanced payment... Very few people will be honest and give you the credit and / or the money that your hard work deserves.

The original book was the autobiography of Bred cohen, a teacher with taurette syndrome. As per YRF they have purchased the copy rights of the book. They also claimed only rani's character was inspired by Bred's life and his disorder, and the rest they changed it completely. So it is not exactly copyright infringement. The same book was made into a film, Front of the class.

So TM you need not feel disgusted. 😆
