EDT~ep 32,5.12.17, My stance. Woman of the hour..
I would if I may, celebrate and admire Sharanya,in this episode. She reckons with circumstances with great tenacity, given in her present clinical conditions. She appears to be a rock, a fortress who supports Vyom.Shiv too in an ethereal form cries out for her love to support him in the land of oblivion. Rajan too,for some reason best known to him expects Sharanya to lift him out of some moral or criminal pit! So to me the mentioned men all appear needy and look to a woman of the hour, young Sharanya to offer them refuge.
The pressure Sharanya goes through, to shield Vyom's life from an unseen spiritual entity is astounding. Vyom's wheelchair being propelled backwards towards the precarious poles, turns out to be unreal! A product of her mind. Vyom is in his wheel chair hale and hearty, tranquil. Too calm in fact to note, that Sharanya does daydream. Sharanya senses Shiv is about. Intrepidly she goes to the front door and closes it on Shiv's face! Symbolically makes it know to let bygones be bygones. Will he accept her action? How stoically she keeps a brave front and just before the much called for ring ceremony is solemnized she needs to gather her wits before the Devi maa the mother of all goddesses. Even in her brief absence she gives Vyom's charge into Rati's hands. Is this due to his temporarily disability? or symbolic of the fact that Sharanya is aware that in his pain he will require the nurturing touch of a woman?
The mother goddess too is a representation of the maternal part of a woman, mother hood. A symbol of patience, mercy, peace and love that encapsulates all. The scene is poignant as we find the subject matter of two women, one mother, the other would wife both pray for a man called Vyom. Both Sharanya and Madhvi seek Maata's protection for Vyom's life.The shock that Sharanya receives seeing Vyom in the imaginary wheelchair incident does prey on her mind, but its only with the mother goddess she feels safe to share her confusion? pressing questions, who constitutes this spirit who follows her? what are its motives?However both women's contrite obeisance before the goddess is different from each other. While Sharanya is decisive and clear about her goals.. to marry Vyom to save his life from a spirit. She thus invokes the goddess blessings in her venture. Madhvi on the other hand, seeks solutions for her problem, how best to avert Sharanya from marrying her son Vyom! and ill omens for entering her household. I liked how Sharanya , reminds the goddess, when Vyom prayed earnestly for her recovery. She beseeches the goddess grant Vyom's life as he goes through a jinxed moment of his life. In fact she even takes a hard tact with Devi Maa, should any harm come to Vyom's life , she will lose a devout devote in Sharanya.. In short, where Sharanya wants Devi Maa's blessing for the wedding which she will go ahead with! Madhvi prays to the goddess to prevent the wedding from happening !
Shiv followed her, but watches from far.. but seeing her in worship.. lighting divas with Vyom at the altar.. Shiv's feet,slide backwards, away from sacred ground! On the other hand,seeing Sharanya before the altar,Vyom's injured leg restores and rebuilds itself.. A strong believer, lights up the divas on the lamp stand before the goddess in the domestic shrine. Vyom ,on his feet too lights the glow of pure love. a surprised yet concerned Sharanya remarks on his hurt leg. Vyom smiles, should he stumble, she stands beside him to prevent him from falling! All he needs is her support. Sharanya is upright in her heart and mind, confesses before Vyom, she may not love him as much as he does, but stand by him she always will! as his shield but not his love? As a wife does, she performs Vyom's arti, warding evil spirits off him..
With this ring I thee.. it's all happening for Sharanya and Vyom.. one man's dreams comes true..as Sharanya puts a band around Vyom's finger. Another man..Shiv's spirit ,the suffering lover runs far away, back to the forest of his painful solitude. A world of silence ,except for his heart that beats and every beat cries, Sharanya!!!! Once more the sorrow from his heart travels to his head! and the lunacy of heart ache, makes him bang his splitting head! Sharanya's ring on Vyom's finger.. puts Shiv's whole body in a frenzy.. how he smashes his frame on the forest floor! Self harming himself! in the hope his heart ache would cease!!
Shiv is far from her in some dark forest, but not really as the ring, that Vyom gives Sharanya is a solitaire and not the S she saw earlier in her room! Hence Sharanya's mind is cast back to that ring..although her finger has the diamond solitaire! Her hand in Vyom's drives Shiv berserk and he runs disoriented in the forest of sorrows. Vyom.. complacency comes out in words, he calls Sharanya his lucky charm, or better still an answered prayer, that moulds his destiny! He gathers her in an embrace! Some where a cry tears through the cosmos, Sharanya!!!
Odhni's den is bathed in darkness .. the candle flame flickers dangerously.. she senses some one's death, images of a blood stained dagger, an accident! a padlock!! frustrated she groans.. she needs a key to open the padlock.. it will unravel strands about Shiv.. he gathers himself and recites.. My life is meaningless without you. I love you. I'll sacrifice my life for you.There is no one other than me in your life. I will eliminate anyone who tries to get closer to you.
To hell with her validated bond!!..Shiv's words.. travel to her home and snuffs out the divas under Devi maa's home shrine. Sharanya is woken up..flapping windows! flickering lights! all tell her he's about to challenge her decision! The bathroom tap runs! She goes to turn it off! notices the bath hole is plugged! He does not scare her! and she gives vent to her defiance and lack of fearing him! by pulling the plug out! Shiv in frenzy holds her hand on the plug hole and wrenches the ring off her finger! lay, contented in the empty bath! Then stands! upright. Sharanya mumbles from her bedroom! she is fearless! she did what she had to do! get engaged to Vyom! Her bond with him is validated! She shows him her hand.. Vyom's ring is missing! Shiv opens his palm..it holds Vyom's ring! He holds it up in his pincer grip ... and his fury smashes the solitaire ring in a thousand pieces!.. Shiv recites.."It existed in the past, it still does, and I'll last till eternity. I'll exist till the end of life and death.You belong only to me, I love you to the brink of insanity. The episode, performance wise belonged to Donal and Namik in their respective roles.. gradually we are seeing more of Shiv..cv's should maintain a balance..
