Here I am, a bit late. For regular readers, you know the drill, this is the last part of this season.
For readers who have just caught up with my writing, please do follow up on the previous story to enjoy this properly.
Also people, I got maximum comments for last part, so I am trying to analyse, was it because:
1. I left enough time between two updates for people to read and catch-up?
2. The update was shorter than previous updates so more people read it?
3. It was hotter than previous updates, so I got more comments?
Do let me know why? I do think that all my updates are same quality content-wise.
Ok, so its done. RiKara wedding - hope I did justice.

AAnkhon ki Gustakhiyaan - Season IV - The Wedding
Part 7
They looked at each other, desire still alive in their eyes, from this morning, but besides desire, there was something else. Love, making them impatient to vow themselves to each other, they couldn't wait for the wedding; the two most patient people on the planet were in this state. She looked so gorgeous , Omkara with his artists' eyes, had never see a work of art like her, innocent, beautiful, pure; yet seductive, sensuous, someone who can drive you crazy. How could she be both, a goddess and a child! He wanted all of her, her innocence and her glamour. She looked at him, a God, but still not flawless, a child who was till needy, wanting, growing up , experiencing facets of life that were denied to him earlier. She wanted all of him, with all his flaws and flavours.
Omkara extended his hand to her and she took it, they walked together to the mandap. The family was waiting for them, Jhanvi made Omkara sit down on his seat, and Gauri was in the arms of her mom, helping her settle down.
The sacred fire was burning before them, sending out flames and sparks, not aware of the fire that breathed within these two souls who knew nothing else but each other at this moment. They were surrounded by kith and kin, their family, friends, who looked upon them with adoration. The place was adorned with lights, flowers that threw aromas delectable, with colours pleasing to the sight, with chants that were music to the ears, but these two knew nothing else but each other. They felt their eyes on each other, they felt the touch when the pandit asked them to throw things into the fire together, they felt each other's aroma, their heartbeats, they felt like they were one already.
They had taken this decision to marry, with all rituals, for each other, for their family and had they made them happy, yes. They were happy. The family watched, helping them now and again whilst the mantras were chanted and rituals completed one by one.
Kanyadaan ka samay ho gaya hain. Vadhu ke maa pitaji aage aaye' the pandit announced.
A pain stung through Gauri, the shockwave didn't escape Omkara either. He felt it instantly, her pain. He put his arm around her and assured her with his eyes, like he always did.
They felt it too, Shivaay and Anika, not knowing what bond they had with this little chirayya sitting before them, but she was pained and could they bear it? The answer was no. When Gauri's mom hesitantly came forward, alone to do her kanyadaan, Shivaay spoke.
Maaji, aapko koi aitraaz nah o toh kya main aur Anika, Gauri ka kanyadaan kar sakte hain? Woh hamesha se aapki thi or aapki rahegi, lekin hume yeh haq agar aapne diya to hum aapke hamehsa ke aabhari ho jaayenge'.
There was no one in the room who didn't have tears in their eyes, specially Gauri and her mom. Omkara looked at Shivaay, not surprised, with pride, with joy. Shivaay looked at Gauri, asking for her permission, and she granted it with her eyes. How could she not? She had accepted him as a father long ago and her bhaujai was no less than for her than another mother, an elder sister who she admired. Gauri's mom had tears in her eyes,' Aap Gauri ka kanyadaan karenge? Kyun nahin. Woh toh app logo ki hi hain.'
Shivaay and Anika came forward, Shivaay took Gauri's hand and put it in Omkara's who had his hand extended voluntarily, then then put stuff in their palms and poured water over it. Anika then tied Gauri's dupatta with Omkara's shawl.
Phero ke liye var-vadhu khade ho jaiye' the pandit announced.
Omkara looked at Gauri and took her arm helping her up. They were tied to each other. Omkara started the circumambulation around the sacred fire, walking in front of Gauri but holding her hand all along.
First Vow, they promised each other prosperity by fulfilling their respective roles in their lives.
Second Vow, they promised courage and strength. I will rejoice in your happiness. In return, you will love me solely'.
Third Vow, they promised each other as their sole love, they vowed to remain chaste'
Fourth Vow, they promised to shower each other with joy, from head to toe, to strive to please each other in every way.
Ab vadhu aage aa jaye' the pandit declared. Gauri moved in front of Omkara.
Fifth Vow, they promised to love and cherish each other for as long as I live. Your happiness is my happiness, and your sorrow is my sorrow.
Sixth Vow, I will always be by your side'
Seventh Vow, We are now husband and wife, and are one. You are mine and I am yours for eternity.'
Not once, while they went around the sacred fire, did Omkara forget their first union, she was and injured not able to walk, he carried her in his arms, around the sacred fire, there were no vows, but wasn't that moving, now that he recalled that day, wasn't that the most opportune day of his life when Gauri swore herself to him, this precious thing, by default, became his. There must be a supreme force up there who was pleased with him even then, the ever sceptical and atheist Omkara thought. He was grateful, to her for not losing faith in him all this while. He was grateful that life had brought this day to him. He looked up and smiled.
Gauri was in the same zone as Omkara, recalling her first ritual with him. He had carried her around the fire and then put his blood in her maang, sealing the bond forever, for her. There was no going back for her after that, she could be no one in her life but him. But the fact that he will reciprocate that emotion ever, had never crossed her mind then. Especially later when he told her that it was all pretence, to save her from the goons. Yes, he had saved her that day, but only from the goons, not from her, not from himself, not from her love for him.
The pheras were complete, they were asked to sit down again, this time she sat on a different side, as his ardhangini, as the only person in his life who can ever have that privilege. He was given a diamond magalsutra held in black beads by Jhanvi that he put around her neck, leaning in to clasp it behind her back, while Anika moved her dupatta aside to make it easy for him. He then took a coin and put sindoor in her maang while Anika moved her maang tika aside. She shivered when the cool powder touched her skin and he thought,' doesn't she look pretty with the red colour in her maang?' They kept looking at each other, absorbing this moment, assimilating this feeling, devouring this sight... They were one now, forever.
Yeh vivaah ab sampann hua. Aaj se aap dono pati patni hue' the pandit declared.
They looked at each other, she had tears in her eyes, unable to control the joy she was feeling, he extended his arms towards her and she went in his embrace. Everyone applauded. It was done. RiKara were married.
They took blessings of all senior Oberois, first Daadi, then Gauri'smom who kissed Gauri on her forehead and blessed Omkara, then it was Tej and Jhanvi's turn, although Gauri noticed Omkara's hesitation for Tej. Pinky and Shakti's blessed them as well, they received gifts from all of them when they touched their feet. It was now turn of Shivaay and Aninka who hugged them, four of them together, to which Rudra and Bhavya came and formed a close, tight cocoon all for one, one for all.
The wedding was complete but not the festivities and rituals that were to follow the rest of the time. Gauri was welcomed into Oberoi Mansion like a queen, where she walked in by toppling a kalash filled with rice, dipping her feet in auspicious red holy colour and leaving her imprint on the floor, accompanied in her every step with Omkara, who cherished every moment of this journey towards their ritualistic wedding, which surprised him.
With the main wedding rituals done with, it was time for some fun and games. A mehfil was organised on the floor, Omkara and Gauri sat on either side of a cauldron filled with milk and rose petals, but they only had eyes for each other.
Rudy was noticing all this from a while, O, Chul Bhabhi ko baad main ghoorna, bahut time hain, pehle yeh batao jeetne ki kya strategy hain aapki?'
Kya?' Omkara was on a different planet altogether not able to take his eyes off his titli.
Daadi was telling me that whoever wins in this game has an upper hand in the marriage. So you should do everything to win Om' Rudy quipped.
Omkara smiled, I have the upper hand anyways, game or not' he challenged her with his eyes.
Gauri was annoyed. Wait and watch Jatadhari, I will show you what upper hand is?'
The family surrounded them eager for the ritual to start. Bhavya sat on the third side of the circle, waved a ring before them and dropped it in the cauldron. Anika, occupied the fourth angle, announced, Whoever fishes the ring out first, will be the winner, come on, start'. Omkara and Gauri both dipped their hands simultaneously in the milk and petals only to find each other and hold their hands. Rudra , Shivaay and others watched keenly as to who is going to come up with the ring, but it was all opaque, they didn't realise that no one was actually fishing for the ring, they were instead feeling up each other's fingers . Omkara was caressing her fingers in his, when Bhavya tugged Gauri, Bhabhi, did you find the ring? Hurry up, before bhaiya finds it'.
Omkara had actually found it, by default, owing to his large palms; he knew his titli had tiny baby palms and hands; she stood no chance before him. He secretly transferred it To Gauri's hands inside the opaque milk liquid. Gauri was shocked, but ecstatic; her Nandi was sacrificing his win for her! She looked at him, they were talking with their eyes, Omkara asked her to claim it and she pulled it out of the milk, I got it' she screamed, and how happy she looked. Omkara was ecstatic just looking at her that was his win. Bhavya and Anika shouted in unison,' yeehhh' Naari Shakti zindabad and hugged Gauri from either side.' Gauri was thanking her Hippie with her eyes and he replied to her with his eyes teasing, that he will get his due.
It was late night and time for the love birds to finally go to their room, they will alone after a long time, but AniRuvYa had different idea. Gauri was taken to their room by Jhanvi, whilst AniRuvYa blocked eager Omkara's path asking for ransom, else they will not allow him to see his wife. Chalo, what will you give for us to let you go to Gauri?' Rudy interjected.
Rudy, you are crazy, get out of my way' quipped Omkara
Itni jaldi nahin bhaiya, ransom toh dena padega. Come on, out with it' Bhavya teased
Omkara couldn't wait anymore, ok, what do you want?'
Your next work of art'
Ok. Done' Omkara , who was very precious about his art and never gave it to people who didn't appreciate art in general, said yes in a jiffy, Rudra was gobsmacked would be an understatement.
They had to clear his way, having no reason to hold him any longer and it was in Rudy's interest, who was waiting impatiently for chota O or Ri, Jao, kaam pe lag jao' he said and sent his bro off with his blessing.
He entered his room; she was standing with her back to him by the huge window, looking at the moon in the night sky. He remembered how often they had looked at this moon in the past, separately, either longingly or trying to resolve their feelings. Now, there was no mystery, the greatest mystery of his life had been solved, the key to all his puzzles, all his answers was standing before him. He locked the door and walked to her, encircling his hands around her from behind he said,' Thank you.' Gauri looked at him questioningly.
For completing me. I think I missed you, even before I met you. That was what was missing, a part of me, now have it here, in my arms' with these words, he tightened his hold on her.
They stood there together for a while, thanking the stars.
