I can see and completely understand that the Rikara shippers are heartbroken with the way things are going. So here's a little something that has been in my thoughts for a while. Hope it cheers you up and gives you (especially all the wonderful writers here) something interesting to think about wrt Om and Gauri's characters. CVs, if any of y'all are reading this (as if), feel free to use the idea since you guys seem to be completely out of fresh ones.
So I see 2 scenarios here. Im going to be using Harry Potter just as a generalised term for any and all pop culture. It could include Star Wars, LOTR or anything really. Marvel and DC comics even.
Scenario 1- Gauri has just started learning English right? Given that her spoken English has improved so much, maybe she starts reading all these books/comics and watching the respective movies, all of it with Om. They have their own version of Netflix and chill (ah-wink-wink) and he introduces her to all these amazing stories and fandoms and turns our chiraiyya into a complete nerd! I would love to see them discuss situations in the storyline, argue about their theories and other fan theories, avoid spoilers like the plague and vow to not continue a show without the other. I would love to see how she hates Snape in the beginning in her own dabbang way and then runs to Om crying when she finds out that he was the good guy all along and that he loved Lily so much that he basically sacrificed his whole life to look out for her son! I would love to see such scenes. (If any of y'all can write something from this I would absolutely love to read it.) I would also love to see Gauri getting hooked onto Game of Thrones but that would be a little out of character for or shy little chiraiyya. But getting her to cry with all us Grey's anatomy fans when all our favourite characters die and her laughing at all the Friends and TBBT jokes that we enjoyed would be a treat to watch!
Scenario 2- Given how dabbang and totally cool our chirayya is, what if she already is a huge fan of HP, LOTR and the likes. What say she uses pitradev sanrakshanam at Om suddenly one day? We already know that fangirling is in her khoon given her love for Bhai. But what if she actually followed all these series' and Marvel and DC series' in Hindi, since all these movies are dubbed in Hindi. Sadly the shows aspect cannot come here. But maybe now that she has started learning English, she can start watching all these in English and start watching a whole bunch of English shows. We can see her blossom into a full fledged nerd. And in this scenario, we can have her convert Nandibail Om into a nerd as well. Lets say that here, he is a video game playing kind of nerd and a non tv watching guy. And given how his relationship Tej has been, the guy does not believe in the power and magic of fiction. He does not understand the beauty of its ability to take us away from our problems, be it for a little while, and let our imagination run wild and free. We can have our dabbang chiraiyya introducing him to all this and instilling in him her ever lasting vishvaas. I would love to see Gauri make a nerd to end all nerds out of her jhattadaari hippie!
Personally I'm confused between the two. What would you guys like to see?
