I love the idea of getting up again after a massive fall...be it real or an imagination. This one was a beautiful take of the same.

One of the best comments I ever read in this IF ! 😊 Very sensibly emotional style of expression on this gritty sentimental poem. 😊

Love's deceit is the theme of this poem ... you expressed it in a dulcet way with the intertwined emotions and in-depth feelings. The hurt that kills the tenderness of the heart in such tempestuous moment which allows the pain and hurt to gush out like a river, to lay down the love to die! It lets you forget what really happened and offers you a distortion of the truth! In last two lines, you chronicled the acceptance of deceit with grace! Wonderful poetic expression Ramya . I saw in this poem the rhythmic outbursts of emotion are spontaneous, unintentional and irresistible too!👏

Madhuri di, I don't know how to thank you for that review. It makes me feel elated but at the same I don't think my piece deserves this.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

A Night Retreat

I woke up one morning to a serene sight,
Found myself in one of those castles, right,
Decided that moment that I wasn't out,
Even if they had wiggly worms with sprouts.

I had heard of more than just magic wands,
Knew centaurs were as real as marching ants,
And there was nothing that was keeping me from dropping by,
For I was as free as the birds in the sky.

I laughed through the funny tunes the violins played,
And cast aside tea and a table laid,
As the want to explore took the best of me,
And if there was snow outside I just wanted to ski.

I glanced at the books fancying a read on return,
And stopped for some warmth where the fire burned,
Breaking out of the teak door into the blooming streets,
Bringing me out of my night retreat.
