How quick we are to judge. I used to look at the liars, the cheaters and think what a pathetic excuse for a human being. Only the worst kind of human beings can think of betraying those that have cared for them right? Rehan Khanna is many things. But he's not a backstabber. I laugh and suddenly every eye on the breakfast table is on me. " "What? I just remembered a joke." I say defensively. "I bet you haven't heard this one..." I proceed to recite some lame joke. Humor can be a great defense mechanism. Roshni snorts mid bite and begins to cough. AM is out of his chair faster than a blink. I wonder what it must be like being the centre of someone's world. It's not that I don't know what it's like to be loved. But there's a difference between knowing something and feeling it. I know I have no right to complain. AM has given me everything. A home, comfort,a family, education but most importantly a feeling of belonging. He has always treated me like a son. But there's a world of difference between being like a son and being a son. I feel ashamed about it but I can't help but feel it. "Well see you guys at lunch." I stand up. "Where are you going? It's a Sunday Rehan." AM frowns. I feel another set of eyes on me. Questioning, probing, daring me to look at her but I don't. Because if I do, I won't be able to look away. And that would just complicate matters. "Just for a quick drive AM. I'll be back before you know it. Promise." I gave him my best convincing smile. "Quick drive? I know what that means. Speeding and recklessness. And don't try to deny it. I've seen you with my own eyes." He says. I grin sheepishly. It's true. Speed has always been my addiction. There's nothing more intoxicating than the wind in your hair as you push a high speed sports car to it's limit. "How many times do I have to tell you to drive safely Rehan?" The concern in his voice makes me feel guilty. I need to get away. "I'll try not to cross the speed limit. At least inside the city." I add the last part under my breath and practically run out of the door.
"It's me isn't it?" Her voice makes me stop in my tracks. At least she had enough sense to corner me in the garage. Somehow my acting skills get a lot poorer when it comes to Ahana. "I'm the reason that makes you stay out more." It was not a question. "Don't be ridiculous Ahana. I stay out because I'm young. I party, I hook up, I do reckless things. I'm enjoying my days." I say flippantly. "And your so called youth dawned on you just a few days ago. Or should I say a few nights ago." The mention of that night makes my breath hitch. No, we hadn't done anything. We hadn't even touch. Only talked and laughed and shared stories. Somehow it was still more intimate than any night I had spent in bed with another woman. It felt like the beginning of something beautifully forbidden. I couldn't do this to AM. "You can't behave like nothing happened Rehan." Her voice cut through my reviere. It was surprising what that voice could do to me. It was also why I needed to run away from it. "Some things are better left unacknowledged Ahana." I said getting into the car. "Sometimes it's better to let people be." I pressed pedal a little harder than necessary. What would you do if your only sho t at getting love was by betraying the man you revere? It was a dangerous
thing, speed. I knew it could kill me. And in times like these, I really hope it would.

Hello everyone! Ever since I read the story of this show I wondered what it must be like, falling in love with the wife of the man who's more gan a father to you. This is my attempt at getting inside the head of Rehan and presenting his P.O.V. needless to say it's based completely on my own imagination. I hope you people like it. Do tell me what you think. I apologise in advance for any mistakes and typos.
