If there's anyone the Bollywood fans would like to see star in a web series, it is certainly Shah Rukh Khan. And with the digital platform industry booming at the moment, plenty of actors of the likes of Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Richa Chadha, and many more are joining the ranks. However, when asked if we will see him adorning the small screen, King Khan claimed he is in no hurry.
Speaking to Mid Day, Shah Rukh said, "I have heard that Saif and Nawaz are doing a series, which is great, but I want to see how well Indian series do on the digital platform, he says before adding, "I want to take my own time to understand how the medium is working. The format is completely different and I don't think I will venture into it just for the sake of doing it.However it seemed otherwise when Shah Rukh moved to sign a deal with Netflix licensing the streaming platform to exhibit films made by his production house Red Chillies Entertainment. Regarding that he said, "They have been kind enough to bring some of my old as well new films including Raees, Jab Harry Met Sejal and Ittefaq on their platform.
Despite the obvious growth of the digital platform indutry, Shah Rukh feels the thrill of watching films in theatres will not recede. "In the near future, I'm sure films will start releasing digitally. But there will still be filmmakers who will continue bringing people to cinemas. I don't think people will stop going to theatres, he added.
