Shah Rukh Khan to choose between Farah Khan and Karan Johar

The actor is done with out-of-the-box roles and will work with old friends.

Shah Rukh Khan, who just turned 52, is done with semi-experimental cinema. The last year saw him veer away from his regular image to play a shrink in Dear Zindagi, a movie dominated by Alia Bhatt. He then played a real-life hooch seller in Raees, his own fan in Fan, and a wry tourist guide in Jab Harry Met Sejal.

None of these movies have yielded any desired results. Underwhelmed by the experience, SRK has decided to return to mainstream cinema in a big way. He has confessed to close friends, that he has had it "up to here with unconventional roles.

Such roles behind him, Shah Rukh is back in his comfort zone, and has said yes to new projects with his old friends Farah Khan and Karan Johar. But the question is which project will he take on first?

A source close to the development says, "Both Farah and Karan are ready with their scripts. It's now up to Shah Rukh to decide whom he gives priority dates to in 2018. Both the films feature him in romantic roles of the kind that have made him what he is.

A filmmaker, who has worked with SRK before, says that the superstar is done with playing what he's not. "He's not saying no to unconventional films. But after Aanand L. Rai's film, where he plays a dwarf, you won't see Shah Rukh doing something out of the box for a long time, the filmmaker explains.

^It's not true.

He said in his birthday press conference that he's not signing anything until next December. He also said while promoting Ittefaq that there is no point doing anything with Karan if they can't do anything different and wilder than before. He specifically said he's not interested in doing the same old stuff and that he would rather drown doing what he wants to do because nobody else will do it.

No Shah. KJo is still okay but not Farah. Protect your interests,man. I wish he'd work with Motwane,Gattu Kapoor and Farhan and Zoya.

He just said two days ago that he doesn't want to do the same old stuff even if it sinks him. If he doesn't do it, who will?

Even with Karan, he said he will only do a movie if it has to be different, cooler and wilder than what they've done before. It was only like 4-5 days ago.

I hope so but I don't really trust SRK. KJo days back was hinting that he would work with SRK very soon and it's about time. Farah toh anyways is sucking up a lot and she has shelved the heroine oriented movie she was working on and started working on something bigger.

Did he really say that he wouldn't sign films until December 2018? That sounds a little crazy unless he's taking the time to introspect.

^Yeah, he said he is not signing anything until December because this movie is really difficult and it needs the time. He also said he doesn't want to sign something and end up wasting Anushka and Katrina's dates.

They kept asking him about Dhoom 4 but he wouldn't reply and said he has not signed anything and he has already told Karan and Adi he won't do anything until December '18.

Also I think he said Red Chillies is producing 9-10 movies in the next 2 years.

Here's hoping he keeps his word. I honestly can't stand him making an absolute fool of himself when it comes to movie choices. An actor of his age and calibre deserves so much better than the stuff he signs on and says yes to just because he considers some ppl family.
