and especially this is word to word from gov site

So legally their marriage is binding and even mantras were said by the shiva devotees though that is not required.
As long as the people ie the crowd accept the rituals and it includes saptapadi or 7 pheres. I think it is valid.

In the north it is usually 7 pheres ie - 7 circumambulation around the fire.

But
In south - it is usually 7 steps - (saptapadi and not 7 pheres) taken. holding hands and with the fire as witness and making vows. After that with the 7th step the groom addresses the bride n beautiful words/mantras and after she consents they are married

i totally went ftw coz what show r we watching eloped😆 did they just sweep everything that happened last year under the rug just like his own marriage😭😆

logically Gauri could have most probably handled this marriage drama herself and decide to return on her own terms if she wanted 😆 but to make it all dramatic and make everyone dress up before Halloween they did this track😆. Not complaining though coz rikara got something out of it😆

I thought the marriage that was done in Barelly is a legal one . But now I have a doubt.😕 If it is a legal one then how can Gouri marry Ajay without getting divorce from Omkara legally😕. Why should Omkara kidnap Gouri to stop this marriage . 😕Just a stay order from the court is enough to stop marriage.😕 Anyway we can not expect so much logic in a television show😊.

Not every south weddings have saptapadi or 7 steps in marriage. For Kerala, it's just three pheras, mangal sutra, ring exchange which happen for weddings or engagement or for some in both, and mainly receiving sarees or pudava from the groom. Each state have their own custom, basically. But yeah I guess for them I guess the marriage is a legal one because they will have it so. But, when Gauri was getting remarried they randomly and very conveniently forgot the first marriage going about rituals for the second marriage. Well, CVs seem to be suffering from amnesia on and off.

In a weird way, the DDLJ track totally made sense to me. Not a fan of disguises but like Om said the DP disguise was because Gauri was refusing to talk to him/meet him, he had no other way of being with her other than in disguise.

The rest of the family came in disguise, so that while they take care of Ajay and keep him away from Gauri (remember Rudra and car?), Omkara gets a chance to convince Gauri of the sincerity of his intentions.

Of course, Gauri being Gauri did not need any of their help to escape, but it does make one happy to see the entire family come for you. Moreover, the audience should also feel that Gauri is as precious to the family as Anika.
