I think it was deliberate on the part of the makers to chose him, because they want to sell that bit of ambiguity in his character. For example, I can't imagine him playing Kabir, even though he is supposed to be super gregarious in real life or Vatsal playing Ranveer. The roles totally play to their strengths respectively.

I don't think anyone of the three leads is a better actor than the other. Their acting has been fairly even. From the three, sometimes someone will overact and sometimes someone will underact.

All three leads suit their roles. Even though Zayed is the funny, prankster in real life he is perfect for the role of Ranvir. Zayed's good looks, stature, build, and voice are all well suited for RR's character while Vatsal's shorter height, youthfulness and innocent looks sell Kabir's character even though Vatsal is more serious in real life. They do look like they can be brothers. Nikita's height and body type work well for lawyer Aanchal.

Zayed can do the poker-face and subtle expressions well and he is pulling off the cold eyes well. Ranvir Raichand is a man who does not give anything away from his face but at times there are minute changes in his face especially when it comes to being surprised. Another thing is that Zayed's dialogue delivery is better than Vatsal's while Vatsal's expressions are better. Vatsal falters in his delivery because he hams it up in places. Zayed on the other hand has a voice texture which is powerful and I feel that he should exploit his voice to compensate for his acting. Zayed can be forgiven for now because he is required to be serious and blank faced but in the coming weeks he will have to put acting on full display. He will have to work hard. I did like him as a maniac in the film Vaada so there is potential.

I agree with you here, none of them are stronger than the other in acting , they are at par with each other. I think the problem for Zayed, a lot of people judge him from his past movies and while yes, he may have not been a good actor( I can't really judge because I have only seen Main Hoon Na), the character here suits him to a tee. He is supposed to be poker-faced, he is supposed to be ambiguous, he is supposed to not show much, so its not really fair to judge him saying he is expressionless when the character himself is meant to come across as that. Like you said, now he can be forgiven, because this is what the character demands, but he will be called to show more acting prowess in the coming weeks, as layers are peeled off his character and I am sure I will ready with brickbats then😆
