Part 14
Panditji announced ishra as man and wife and instructed them to take blessings of their elders, ishra obliged him and went touch feet of first bhalla's then iyer and then other friends and relatives .All blessed them happily for their happy married life .Soon bhalla's moved to their house for ishra greh pravesh ,toshiji entered first ,she at first covered Ishita's head with a heavy dupptta then went inside and returned with aarti thaal and a vessel full of grain . She kept the vessel in the middle of entrance and then got up .Toshiji put teeka on ishra forehead and then did their aarti . She then instructed ishita to enter the house by pushing the grainfull vessel inside and then put her feet in kumkum water then enter the house with kumkum filled feet like goddess laxmi .
Ishita obliged to toshiji and did same as directed ,then toshiji took ishra to the temple of house for taking the blessing from matarani . After that she took ishra to Raman's room which was fully decorated ,they were about to enter the room when ruhi stopped them , she scolded her dadi and spoke " arey dadi you only did mamma papa puja while entering the main door ,yahaan enter karne ki puja, aap bhul gaye na( you forget to did their puja before entering in this room ).
All laughed listening to ruhi while she made a baby face and was about to crying thinking all were laughing on her when Raman picked her in his arms and spoke " no rooh its not like this ,dadi did Ishita's aarti because she has now become a member of our family ,so dadi was welcoming her in our house , so aarti will happen only at the entrance not everywhere ."
Ru( nodding her )- ohh now I understand .
After that ishra entered the their room happily with ruhi . As bhalla's had most of their relatives in Delhi and Punjab , many had reached there .Toshiji made ishita sit in the bed and told everybody to see her and instructed ishita to take blessing from them while she went out of the room . All saw ishita one by one ,praised her and gifted her some jewelries while she was happily enjoying all the attention and praises she was getting .After sometimes toshiji showed up and asked " how is my bahu ".
All the ladies " very beautiful ,bahut soni kudi hai." like this all praised ishita , soon vacate the room and now only toshiji and ishita was there . Ishita spoke giving all the jewelries to toshiji
" Mummyji they gave me all this you keep them ".
T( lovingly )- no puttar ,these all are your things ,you keep them with yourself rather I had also brought something for you .
Saying so she gave a huge jewelry box to ishita and spoke making her wear a set of golden bangles " these are our khandani jewelries , I took these when shagun was leaving our house ,now I m giving you as you are now daughter in law of this house .Ishita puttar my Raman was living a terrible life after shagun's betrayal , I always wanted to get him married again and live happily but it seemed he had made an wall around him in which my voice always lost but don't know how and when Raman started liking you and finally proposed you for marriage . I m seeing my puttar happy almost after six years ,I had craved to look him smiling but today his lips are adorned with his smiles ,I don't have words ishita to thank you . Thank you so much puttar for coming in our life ,at first you look after ruhi like a mother and then you accepted Raman too . Puttar you are actually laxmi of my house who has brought happiness in our house . This is your house ,live happily and freely here .
Tera bahut bahut thank you hai puttar ."
Saying so toshiji started crying ,ishita wiped her tears and spoke " why are you thanking me rather I should thank you for accepting a girl like me happily and showering so much love and affection on me .Raman has saved me from that pathetic life which I would had lived by marrying prateek .I m thankful to all of you for making me member of this house happily ."
Her eyes too became teary till she complete her sentence ,toshiji took her in tight hug and patted her back softly to console her . They talked some more and then toshiji went out as she has to look after other things too. Soon the day passed between some rituals and many works . Ruhi was the happiest soul as she was juggling between iyers and bhalla's ,enjoying all the pampering of everybody .
It was about 11.30 pm when Raman entered the room and saw it beautifully decorated while ishita was sitting in veil spreading her lehenga in the middle of beautifully decorated bed . He walked to her ,sat beside her,she shifted a bit for giving him space to sit comfortably while he thought that she is not comfortable with his proximity. He removed her veil and spoke " ishita listen I married you because I didn't wanted you to live that saffocated and painful life marrying that moron . I had already told you and m telling you again, I didn't married you out of any charity but I actually love you and I love you that doesn't mean that you should also love me back. Now you are my wife and I m very much happy and contented with you being in my life,I m and will never force you to reciprocate my feelings which I have for you ,take your time to adjust yourself in this marriage .This is your own house , people of this house all your own ,you live freely here .you need not to fulfill my needs as wife ,you go and change , be comfortable, I m calling ruhi too as you must he feeling awkward ."
Saying so he got up to go when she held his hand ,he turned and spoke " do you want something ".
She nodded ,he sat beside her and asked " do you want any of your sister to stay with you ".
She shook her head negatively ,he thought and asked ," to tumhe bhook lagi hai kya ".
She again denied ,he guessed again and spoke " yes now I got it ,you have habit of having coffee in this late hours ,you must be yearning for it.you stay here only I will bring coffee for us ".
Saying so he left without giving her chance to speak further ,she folded her knees till her chest and spoke resting her chin on them " I must say he is very cute ,he can do anything to make me feel comfortable . Thank you so much murugan for making him my soulmate and this family as mine .They all are so good ,they are just like Oasis for me . I was like a traveler walking in hot sand under burning sun and was almost about to die ,but they came and comforted me as the traveler forget his all tiredness after drinking the water and resting under the tree . I always was scared with this day thinking of marriage with prateek but this turned to be most beautiful day of my life ."
She was still lost in her thoughts when he showed up with two cups of hot steaming coffee . He entered the room and spoke " mam here is the best coffee in the world made my chef Raman bhalla ".
She smiled fully and spoke " this is indeed the best coffee in the world as it is made by my dear husband ".
He blushed listening this from her and spoke getting up " let me call ruhi ".
She shook her head negatively and spoke " nahi ruhi must had slept ,some dijiye use mummyji ke paas ".
R- you know that she is sleeping with ma .
I- humm ,she informed me ,rather she said sorry to me ,saying today she has to sleep with her dadi and she will be with us from tomorrow .
R-( surprised)- and you let her go .
I- humm .
R- ok ,you sleep in bed ,I will sleep in couch ,if you want we can let the door open .
I- no need to do anything like this .
R- (concerned)- you will be comfortable here na .
I- humm .
He signed in relief thinking this and passed her coffee to her and took his ,both started drinking their coffee silently ,stealing glances at each other. Soon their coffee ended and Raman sat sometimes beside her then got up to go when she spoke " close the door,we are just married ,it will be awkward if someone peeps in our room .,"
Raman nodded and went to bolt the door ,he took his night cloths and was bout to go to change ,then turned to ishita and spoke checking her " arey ishita you didn't changed your cloths , aisa karo you go and change first ,I will change after you ."
Ishita shook her head negatively , Raman made a face and spoke coming near her " ishita is something bothering you ".
I- humm .
R- kya .
I- your so much concern .
R- what are you saying ,you are bothered with my concern ,I was just trying to make you easy and comfortable.
I- that I m ,one side you all are saying that this is my house ,I should be free ,other side you all are running here and there trying to make me easy ,I m not use to this much care and concern .main comfortable hoon rather I had adjusted myself as a member of this family . Don't give me special treatment ,let me be a wife ,a mother and a Daughter in law . I m happy and contended .
Listening to this Raman walked to her and spoke cupping her face ,while his eyes were moist with happiness " are you really happy ."
I- yes I m indeed I m happiest and ...
R- and what .
Ishita down casted her eyes and spoke fidgeting her dupptta " and I m ready to be your wife too ".
His eyes widened in happiness but next moment he composed himself and spoke " no ishita its all right ,I told you na ,you take your time ".
I- I don't need time , because this happens in every marriage weather its love or arrange then why we will be different .you love me ,though till now I don't love you like you do ,but I will happy with you ,I had accepted you as my husband then why should I keep you away from it which is your right .
R- no ishita ...it will be like you are returning my favour .
I- nothing like that ,I was saying this as I wanted to be your wife in every manner but its ok if you don't...
He didn't let her complete and spoke
" you are ok with it na ,matlab .., you will not be awkward ,it will be ..."
I-( pressing her eyes )- humm ,i m good .
