First of all, Singapore does not have a free healthcare system. They have a co-payment system, where the government subsidies and people have to pay for their healthcare costs. Free healthcare does not really work. Case in point, UK's NHS system. I also agree that it's too early to judge the GST system. To be honest, the film should be criticised more for its inaccurate facts.

How does NHS not work ?? Yes there is pressure on it due to increased number of immigrants in U.k but it's still the best thing ever where everyone gets same medical treatement .

Vijay is overrated with all his movies having some dialogue or the other related.to.politics or doctors that sometimes goes overboard. He also has a mass fanatic following that watches his films
He is in d industry for 20yrs yet to learn acting.
His movies sell because of dialogues against system which mostly are irrelevant to the movies he makes

Yes singapore doesn't have a free health care but it is a 7% GST that doesn't change for other things. In India, for movies they have 10% + 18%, GST and entertainment tax. How many times should people pay? And the party should warn them instead of trying find out the religion the actor and producer belong to. Shameless

If a person can pay for a 400 rupee movie ticket then the percentage of gst is quite valid. All this comes under items of luxury. Basic needs items have been spared. Fyi.

As far as i know tamil movies was only 120Rs. And to have a surge of 28% is gonna hit hard on them. Esp big films are needed to make money so that the small budget ones work too. Its a cycle.

And movie is not luxury for most.

Anyways tamil films have always had things against the government in some films. It's freedom of speech. Censored by the board as well.. And during those times that present govt never really reacted much. This ppl are doing free promotion for film by tryna remove the scenes. Last i heard they haven't removed or muted anything. LOL

I stopped reading at "movie is not luxury for most".
And, gst for movie ticket is just 28% which abolished the 45% entertainment tax that was levied by many states. Lol
