Hi Every one
I know we had lot of English teachers and English experts in the forum who can help me with this.

I am trying to differentiate Brave and Courage.

From what I read till now, Bravery is one doing a task without fear.
Courage is more Internal. Courage is doing a task by overcoming or along with your fears.

Uma is brave in getting Kanak's bag from the cow in Kerala Day 1 pooja.

He knows he can do it. he risked his life but without fear. So we can call him brave not courageous there.

I cant remember any courageous tasks by Uma.

Could you please share some scenes where you think Uma showed bravery or Courage.

Eagerly waiting for your updates..

Hi, Manasa! Interesting thread!
I remember the scene in Kerala when he tatooed his hand instead her.
But i'm not a linguist, I barely deal with my English, so I don't know if he was brave or courageous...or crazy 😊

Yes, that kerela scenes. I think, he is brave.
And, when uma saved kanak in the sea before she steps into the crabs area. I think, it is brave.
In my opinion, i think kanak was more brave and courage than uma. And, she proved also.
For uma, it is numbers. But for kanak, she showed in every episodes.

Getting himself tattooed for dharm was courageous.

Watching the film when he knew what awaits him was courageous.

I think when you know the consequences and still do that thing it is courage.

But when you don't fear anything in front of you, it's bravery.

So when Kanak walked out without dupatta because Uma was hurt she was courageous.

But when she stood up and told everyone she would not do grihapravesh she was brave.

Interesting topic, I googled 😉

Courage is that which is required when the thing you fear is emotional and there is no real physical danger. Bravery is that which is required when the threat is real and poses a physical danger.

Courage is needed in order to face your emotional fears -- to get out of your comfort zone and try something different. If a person is afraid to speak in public, but his or her new job requires it, it will take courage to face that fear.

Bravery, on the other hand, is what compels a fireman to run into a burning building. While he knows the danger is real, it is his duty to face that danger.

In my opinion, kanak is courageous n Uma brave as of now!

Hi Every one
I liked all ur comments and thank u so much for responding.

I would really love to add one more thing..

Yesterday Uma showed courage by showing his vulnerabilities to Kanak.

He always been thought not to show Vulnerability even then his love towards Kanak made him cross out all those preachings.

I never saw him showing any Vulnerability to any one.

First time he crossed all those and showed his Vulnerability to Kanak which actually puts Kanak even more bigger place than Massa in his life..

Please let me know what do you think..

Dearforum friends,
I think Uma was very courageuis in the entire pushkar track. He faced everything from insults to himself and massi sa, whom he holds in such high esteem , to being arrested and still was determined to take kanak back to ladno. And I'm not saying he didn't deserve the humiliation. I'm just saying the love he has for kanak kept bringing him back and enduring all the trials that were put forth.

Courage and bravery are almost synonyms,
courage is linked to the mind, it's what your mind say to you to do. While bravery is linked to the heart and soul, it's what your heart say to you.

Someone who is courageous is not conscious of death, he doesn't think that he can die then someone who is brave is perfectly aware of death, he knows that he can die but he carries on regardless.

Here is a quote from the great Napoleon Bonaparte, he said that to courage his soldiers
" Bravery comes from blood, courage comes from thought "

Uma was courageous when he came to celebrate Teej with Kanak while the Rathis told him not to return at their home. Kanak's brothers almost threatened Uma.

Uma was brave when he saved Kanak from scorpion bites in Kerala Beach.

PS : I remember of my high school philosophy professor with whom I did a essay on the difference between courage and bravery, thank to Thibaud Sir.
