Abhishek and Aishwarya to reunite on screen with 'Sundarkand'

Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai fans are in for a real treat. After starring together in 2010 release Raavan, the real-life couple will be playing reel-life lovers in Vashu Bhagnani's next, Sundarkand.

Although their previous movies like Dhaai Akhsar Prem Ke and Kuch Naa Kaho didn't garner much appreciation, fans still remember Abhi-Ash for their hit with Mani Ratnam, Guru.

According to a report in Midday, Sundarkand was initially supposed to star Irrfan Khan and Taapsee Pannu who apparently backed out at the last minute. A source said that the movie is inspired by real-life incidents that follow 2 police officers who find love in a crime-infested state.

The source added, Abhishek and Aishwarya are reading the script and are keen to return to the big screen together. The project will be helmed by TV director Priya Mishra, who makes her Bollywood debut with the outing.'

While we are still to get a confirmation from the couple themselves, it was believed that Abhishek and Ash will be sizzling on the silver screen after 7 years with Mani Ratnam's next, while other reports suggested that the couple will be starring in Anurag Kashyap's film, Gulab Jamun.
