But ipk1 had ballika vadhu as competitor n still it lasted for over a year...

Btw Gul's other show IB is doing pretty well n is a slot leader but it airs around 10 so no idea if it is considered prime time

Show like Balika Vandu fits the 8pm slot. Its family audience time. They prefer such show...the one which grandmom, MIL and rest of the family can sit and watch together.

By 10, the audience changes...its will be more urban audiences...

Actually not just few weeks IPK1 was consistently in the top 10 shows after 2 mths. And there ve been times when it actually beat BV. It has even come in the top 5 many times. It had low TRPs only in the 1st 2 mths.

I really tried to stick with this show but I can't connect with any of the characters right now. and it's not like I haven't tried. but I really can't anymore. so I will come back when the show finally reaches the point where Chandani knows the true extent of damage to Dev and finally acts mature and like a woman truly in love.

Who are the writers writing for ? Who are their target audience ? Is my thought after watching this drama..

Nani - one oblivious and obtuse elder who thinks all the happiness of the house is bcos of chandini .. in spite of knowing her grandchild is hurt and angry .

That little boy - how in the world can one think he's cute ? He spouts adult talk every time he opens his mouth. And why not? All adults just grin when he talks non sense .

Sasha - Althought the writers have made this girl the standard Vamp-ish character , I won't be surprised that Advay really likes her at this point ...cos she seems to have spent more time with him than anyone else .

That sister of his - she's ..well.. she's there ..wouldn't matter otherwise .

Advay / Dev- Again the standard ruthless man . But I feel this is one character that didn't transform too much other than change of wardrobe once he changed profession from professor to business man ..

chandini - After watching all the episodes , the one thing that is glaring is not just the change in her characterization but also the number of make overs this girl 's got !! Why so much experiments on her clothes ? She has had four wardrobe changes ... what are the writers going for? Every time she goes to a different city , her dressing will change? .. How well her characterization has been messed .. she was supposed to be Sanskrit scholar .. learnt and calm and cool ... and now all she's doing is ridiculously seducing a man that's not interested in her one bit .. and how can she be called matured when she's treating him like he's her toy . She didn't grow up with him . How in the world can her craziness for him called 'love'?? how can writers do this ? How is she strong when all she's doing is grasping on to a non existent husband ...The husband who doesn't want her . I m embarrassed to watch her on screen . I was cringing while watching the rain sequence . Drenching the leads in rain with white clothes for no explainable reason . What was the meaning and requirement for it at this point ? . It just put chandini in a bad light for being childish and stubborn and make him carry her knowing his ailment . what are the makers trying to do? Why are they making chandini's characterization so weak and obtuse?chandini takes the cake for being the worst written FL I ever watched . It's hard to believe that they wanted to create a prime time show with this kind of haphazard story.. the revenge drama , something about acid victim story , FL learning some Sanskrit slokas that was mentioned in first press meets ... these are non existent now .. . They are probably going to just wing it to garner TRPs .. I am done here . Sorry for the long rant . It's heartbreaking to watch Barun in a story that is so lost . Is this what he signed up for is my constant thought as I watch him onscreen ..
