but look at it this way. she is not just a potential girl he was supposed to marry but his actual fiance. somebody his whole family knew about. he is not a doodh pita bacha. he is a grown up man so I don't see how he is not wrong for breaking his commitment to her. he can go around marrying a girl simply for revenge and not have the guts to refuse to get engaged to a girl he doesn't like? If so than I have an even more solid reason to call him spineless and hate him. I really tried to stick with this show but I can't connect with any of the characters right now. and it's not like I haven't tried. but I really can't anymore. so I will come back when the show finally reaches the point where Chandani knows the true extent of damage to Dev and finally acts mature and like a woman truly in love.

The writers of this show write script per week I guess... they see the TRP one week, then change the track accordingly...

Oh mira. yes I know you. true there is a vast difference between both these shows but then I guess the timeslot makes a difference too. but honestly that show is a trp slot leader in its time slot leaving all the rest far behind in the competition coz of it's tight character building. if this show had done that than no matter how ridiculous the story people would have watched it for their favorite characters and the trps would not have been a problem. but alas, now I guess it is too late for that.

I know. this show had so much potential. if only characters were made in a way to have been connectable to the audience then the show would not have been struggling for trps. I have said this before too but the fact is trp aunties watch the shows only for the characters they love especially female characters be it the heroine or the vamp. these characters need to be consistent to connect with the general audience and I can't believe Gul screwed this up even though she has been in this industry for so long. my problem with this show never even came from any OTT costumes or scifi stuff. it was always the lack of consistency in the characters and their motives and actions.

I feel the writers have lost it completely.

It is no longer an intense love/hate story but a comedy show. I agree that every character is acting plain stupid.

It is writer's duty to see that the story remains coherent. Here the writers are not sure. Both Chandani and Advay are pale caricature of the original build up during the initial episodes. Above all now this present status of the story looks so hilarious and illlogical. The sets are grand and the actors are talented but there has to be some sane rationale behind their OTT behavior. I am not at all happy with the last episode.

Exactly. ad the problem to me is, I am working on a VM and seeing their previous scenes makes me realize just how much they have altered the story. they should have made this show on a different time slot. for example the second season set a new standard at the 6 pm slot and the story the hero was far far darker than anything Advay could be. I hated that Shlok and he didn't even have such an interesting gripping past tragedy for me to sympathize with him. here they had it all and just decided to throw all that under the bus.

So glad to hear that its slot leader... if it wasnt I would be disappointed since if that script and execution cant win, then nothing can. Yes, luckily the show is in a much safer slot and not too much into rat race.

You are right again. Character building is very important in any story telling. Ppl watched Kyunki for years for Tulsi even trough odd tracks. Anurag/prerna and Mr.Bajaj were all strong characters. Even when story went crazy, these characters were true to their nature. That was enough for TRP. If this show had enough TRP, nothing would have matter. Also in that case Gul would have taken the liberty to stick to the plot rather than experimenting after each week...

I really wished IPK3 was a late night show ...say 10.30-11. then Gul wouldnt have tried to gather TRP by the over grand religious and archaic social settings of the initial phase. Show would have stick to anti-hero and dark romance.

At 8, neither does the show stay true to dark romance nor does it get drama right. Gul's romantics are not for prime time.

Btw gul has done well on prime time... Ipk1 was at 8 ... But of course such dark themes don't work at 8 ..

Ipk3 shud have had a different timeslot

Btw 8 pm has been very unlucky for star plus... Even pardes kept changing script every week n became super natural of sorts by end

IPK1 wasnt slot leader if i remember ... it got good rating for a couple of week.

Show we are talking about is Rishton Ka Chakravyuh ...its 6pm at SP. A lot safer slot, and the makers have to liberty to avoid OTT drama at that time.

Honestly if they wanted to make revenge story then having ipk title doesn't make sense,title should be according to the story and if it was supposed to be romantic then promos should have depicted that,they mixed up two themes and that z where the whole mess lies.If it was a revenge story then they should have remained on theme,advay has very strong reason for revenge but instead of making chandani pawn they made advay's whole revenge plan centered around chandani,no one is going to buy revenge aganist 8 year old,yes he can have bitterness or anger towards her but why make advay focus on her only as if she was mastermind.Sometimes I feel star's purpose is to sell the show to another countries as ipk1 has been huge hit in around 50 countries may be why that z why they were not bothered about what gul is writing or they trusted gul too much.Anyways now they should only focus on advay-chandani love story with sasha as third angle.

I agree this show and it's characters make no sense. Sasha is a much more Bimbo and nasty version of Tia. Tia at least had some substance. She was not a bad person at the start. Just an airhead. But she did have some good qualities. She was never into S and was just trying to get his money coz of her family vendetta or whatever. We saw in some occasions her questioning what she is doing, or sometimes getting emotional about her family or her husband. She was somewhat relatable. But this person? She looks like a Joke. Just an over dramatized Vamp.

Even to appeal to TRP audience you need to have a consistency of characters. That is what those annoying shows that run for years have. They have a lot of drama, but they also have consistency. People relate to those characters in some way and they are invested in "Them". Not necessarily the story. Coz if they were watching just for story, those shows would have ended years ago.

I don't agree this show is ruined for TRP. This show was never executed right. They had to do all this coz they didn't have ANY truth in their storytelling from the start. At the start I liked Advay. He had a purpose. Now he just looks like a low life Cad, and Chandani looks like a Despo. This is not what appeals to TRP audience. Even the rest of the family are not likable. The show that this show replaced also had a lot of nasty family members who were weighing the story down. But at least the execution was a lot better than this. The Allahabad story was way better than this, and I liked that old school thing they were trying to do at the start, but didn't even do justice to that. Then the Miko and Shika story went out the window and so did the revenge against the Vashisht's. Just humiliating Chandani was the end of all that. That family is not even shown anymore. Chandani just wants to sleep with Dev! That's all we are getting from this now.

I just checked out the show again after not watching since the switch to Mumbai and I saw that they had ruined the story even more. This is by far the worst show Gul has ever made and I am shocked at her to be frank. I am even shocked at SP that they are letting this story go down this track. If all these tricks dont get them TRP this show wont last much longer.
