Episode begins showing Bani packing for Ganga while Meera is packing her stuff. JW is in his office nursing a drink and thinking of Meera's ultimatum. Maasi comes and sees Bani crying and packing Ganga's clothes. JW is thinking of his dead children. Ganga comes and seeing her Bani quickly wipes away her tears. Ganga hands Bani a photograph of the two of them together and tells her that it was her favourite. Bani sneaks a look then puts on her mean face and tells Ganga that she doesn't want any reminders of her least of all a picture of her unlucky face. Ganga looks heartbroken and asks her mother to at least look at her. She'll go away as Bani wants. But Bani cannot face her child's face and Maasi comes and takes Ganga away. Bani immediately looks at the picture and hugs it to her. JW is at Krishna/Atharv's samadhi thinking of his memories with the two children, their happy moments together, their horrible death. Bani is peeping through a screen as Maasi tries to put a crying Ganga to sleep and Bani reaches out but cannot touch Ganga. After Ganga falls asleep Bani strokes her and kisses her. In her sleep Ganga holds tight to Bani's hand
In the morning Maasi comes in to see Ganga still clutching Bani's hand. Bani wakes and realizes where she is and tries to free her hand. Immediately Ganga wakes and begs her mother not to go as she's aware that in her sleep Bani was with her all night. Bani turns away to hide her tears and tells Ganga not to talk rubbish, to hurry up and get ready as her new mother will be coming for her.
At WM Meera is all packed and ready to go when JW walks into her room. He calls a servant and tells him to prepare the guest room as they will have a guest. Meera is thrilled and thanks Jai, and leaves to get Ganga. The perennially eavesdropping Jigz/Karuna are over the moon with the success of their plan and Jigz is unable to believe JW's quick turnaround. Karuna pinches her to bring her back to reality and tells her that now no one can stop Jai and Meera from drawing closer.
Bani is putting in all of Ganga's toys and medicines and tells Maasi to remind Ganga to take her medicines regularly. Ganga comes in and tells Bani that Meera has arrived to take her. Bani is unable to control her tears and tells Maasi to tell Ganga to leave fast as she has a headache and wants to sleep. Ganga says that she's leaving and will not trouble Bani again but wants a last hug. Bani is close to breaking down and desperately tells Maasi to hurry Ganga up. Meera comes in and tells Bani that if there is one relationship that is above all others it is that of mother and child but Bani has rendered this relationship impure and selfish. She has tainted this relationship and that even if she is born again she will get whatever she wants except the right to be a mother, as she does not deserve it. Once Ganga crosses the threshold Bani loses all rights to her and will have no relationship with her.
Ganga's departure scene is to the song "Tujhe Pata Hain' from Taare Zameen par. All the basti residents are hugging her goodbye and Maasi runs after her to hug her. Ganga keeps turning back to look at her mother and Bani shuts the door and pretends to turn away. Bani sinks to her knees and sees that Ganga has left her drawing bok behind. Just like Taare Zameen Par Ganga has drawn a flip book with Bani gradually being eased out of the drawings of Ganga and Meera. Maasi comes and hugs a completely heartbroken Bani. In the car Ganga is crying when she seems to hear her mother's voice and sees Bani running after the car. They hug and wipe away each other's tears but it's a dream. Ganga cries as Meera tries to console her.
Maasi looks at Bani who wipes her tears and tells her that Ganga has left behind her drawing book. She asks Maasi what she'll cook and Maasi tells her that she's trying to hide the fact that she's missing her daughter desperately. Bani tells her that Ganga is going to her own home where she'll be loved by all. Ganga is shown entering WM where everyone comes to welcome her but she's got a sad face. Bani says that here she had to share space with me, there she'll have her own room, her own books, toys, clothes, good food, all the things she was not able to give her. Meera shows Ganga into a room done up with kiddie wallpaper and loads of toys. Ganga doesn't look remotely happy and Meera leaves to get her food. Bani says that by now she'll be running all over the place and will have forgotten about me. Maasi says that she'll have everything except the one thing she longs for, her mother's love. She'll get good food but not a mother chasing her, coaxing her to eat, she'll hav a room but not the comfort of her mother's lap. Bani cries as Maasi hugs her.
Meera sees a lavish spread untouched as Ganga sits hugging her mother's picture. She looks at the picture and reassures Ganga that though she's missing her mother the people in this house are very loving, soon everyone will love you. She leaves to get her hot chocolate. JW comes intro the room and sees the food untouched. He asks Ganga why she's not eating and whether she's missing her mother . He then tells Ganga that he'll take her to her mother as she's not eating. To live in this house there are certain rules that are to be followed and timely eating is one of them. Ganga hurriedly gets up and drops the picture of Bani face down. JW picks it up and episode ends as he turns the picture around.
