And I finally make an appearance, late enough to considered late too. But had a hectic week, and was sleep deprived too so much so that I missed the Friday deadline for DOTW.
Now the topic - it is been vehemently agreed that there need not, indeed cannot be any improvement on the proposal / confession scene. Not even a hair of Sanskaar's face (and what a lovely face it was, intense with the love he felt, a love he had no hope of being returned in any measure, not only in this life but all the lives to come). It was this intensity, this hopelessness and yet the urgency to express it that made it so poignant so profound. A love that shook the bastion of reason and smashed all conventions. It was breathtakingly brilliant, (including the whirling camera).
So it is a resounding verdict - NOTHING NEEDS TO BE CHANGED.
But there were also interesting observations / viewpoints:
a slower pace to reach the scene - agreed and it would have given us some more memorable scenes, I also agreed it was too rushed
Change of Swara's wardrobe (agreed Tani only mentioned the dress in this particular scene, but I think her entire wardrobe should be have changed, especially those chandelier spare parts🤢 which she wore as earrings)
The build up to the scene - Sanskaar is walking on the road, Swara's words resonating in his head, he is already on his way to be rip roaring drunk and yet manages to bring all the relevant people to MM and then starts "confessing" Pity they could not bring in Mohini - she was the only one missing.😆
The subsequent reaction - Sanskaar being drunk was definitely not routine, how did everyone dismiss what he said, so easily, even if drunk, or rather because he was drunk, they should realise he was actually blurting out what was deep inside him and should have at least though about his words (but no, everything, everyone was dismissed faster than you would fling a fly from your soup Okay bad analogy, you would discard the soup too😆)
Immediate scene - Sanskaar wakes up when water is flung on him, no hangover (he drank a whole bottle, no headache, nothing) and the Ragini / Lovely scene - horrible character assassination. And once again on one apologised to Sanskaar or even then did not attempt to put two together (if not four, they could have at least got to five or six)
