Ummm I would definitely draw a line at Hannibal ...
But kind of made me remember the discussion we had Diya on the literary figures that we have been drawn to ... most of them feature here
Like you I like tough men I can tolerate rude arrogant . Throw in a few prejudices .. I am hanging in there .. a dark past .. I am I intrigued, hooked ... but make them criminals or someone on the wrong side of law ...I lose interest ...
and I loath the ones who would use physical and or emotional violence ..
So it is very thin narrow road for my bad boy

Yeah, I was thinking of that discussion too...

I agree... For me, even in the world of fiction, where the line can be stretched a bit, it is the inherently good with the appearance of bad that works... 😊 To an extent, I can make the criminals work too, with those justifiable reasons and all that ... But not those outright gangster types...

Hannibal was way off... I couldn't even watch those movies, but I do know he had a fan folllowing and I think the heroine (I forger her name) runs away with him in the book.

I hadn't thought of Sherlock either that way. But, he has the lure... Just that sheer intelligence... 😊 And with Benedict Cumberbatch as the Sherlock Holmes, definitely! 😊
