Shush, long time no see and good to read your post! I agree totally. I am not a TRP audience member and I don't know anyone personally in India to ask their opinion. (Other than I.F members). But my aunt watches Hotstar like me and we both watched IPK1. So I told her to check this out. If she was from India she would be considered a TRP Aunty. She watched the first two episodes and refused to watch. She has watched Geet, IPK and IB/DBO. All on HS. So she is familiar with Gul shows. But this one she refused to follow. She said she finds nothing appealing about the characters and the whole premise of the story is overley theatrical and makes no sense.Reluctantly I had to agree with her. I even told her that some of the later episodes are better. But she was like Na..done with it. Won't waste my time. She is not hormonal enough to watch this show just for ML's hotness! Painful fact! Lol

Despite my partiality to Barun I have struggled to connect to this story and characters. Chandani was shown totally differently to the way she is being shown now. I preferred her more reserved avatar. This behaviour with a total stranger is totally unbelievable from a girl who refused to leave her house for 1 year after being kidnapped and tortured. Now she is just indulging in Tashan with a man who continouesly invades her personal space! This is simply terrrible writing without a head or a tail!

By ALL means Mikku / Veer and his family are the only people I really like on this show. Him and Shika look like a Takkar Ki Jodi. Sorry to say Advay and Chandani are not. Now I read somewhere that Advay is going to think Chandani slept with PP? Sounds like something I saw around 10 months ago on Gul's other show. Something I have seen in many of her shows. ML thinks FL is characterless and won't hesistate to say so! Can Gul ever graduate from this mediocre theme? At this point this does not feel like a revenge drama. That scene with the magnetic soles and CGI Tea cups was like the end of my rope for me! I have not even seen the pegion episode but will, coz I have got to see what everyone is on about!

If people like this show, they are most welcome to! But I can see why this is not working with the general audience!

HI Darcyfan and other posters,
Sorry I have no time today to reply to individual posts...packing for my travels overseas...

I do hear you who are Barun fans and some how have been turned off by an episode or two...Trust me ..I have had that experience too...But

All I can say is try the show now (if you really wish to give it a chance)...and don't "read" about it before you watch...It always sounds worse that what it is...if you read about it...

I didn't like much of last week episodes...and was at the verge of quitting ..and then last Friday really got back into it...

I have liked this week the best so far...😊..Don't know if it is going to go up from here...but I am hopeful...

Well I think you missed reading the bold part...
But still as a kid he is not completely blaming Chandni as he knows and have that little common sense ki many people are in this plotting game, and he needs to find them out, and for that he needs to be close to Chandni's family through Chandni...
I will add a little to this, he is not blaming Chandni alone..ok. DO WATCH PROPERLY ...otherwise you will miss such crucial details...

Even though I record on DVR & watch it in family room, she won't join me.. the main reason is she didn't like the promos, that burning her saree, putting her in path of falling Ravana etc.. she was really really put off those promos... oh plus she absolutely detested Daddi wala Barun...

As you said, even though I told her it has improved.. she will not start as she says she already watches 5 shows.. I think the new upcoming one with Daughter/Mother one she might watch.. more her cup of tea..

I personally think why first worked & this one isn't with TRP aunties is that first one romance came later on.. if you think about it.. initial was full on family drama.. usual Dowry issue for low middle class family.. FL trying to save family.. intense romance started much later.. & believe me aunties are very uncomfortable with it..

I agree with this. Indian TV audience are still not matured to watch a Romantic show on prime time. They will stick to mindbogglingly senseless kitchen politics wala shows

The reason this show didnt work for me was because nothing about this was spectacular. The romance is okay-ish. Their chemistry is nothing compared to what im used to seeing. even comedy scenes are not funny.
I used to love barun's voice and smirk in IPK S1 but here his voice is so low sometime i cant hear it and he doesnt open his mouth. And his costumes need to change. his face is so perfect but when i look at his colorful coats or his baggy pants i just dislike it.

I know many compare this season with S1 but i find myself comparing it with ishqbaaz. That show is also gul khan show but I love watching that show because of the chemistry between the couples and the comedy scenes are so funny i can keep laughing at it

dont mean to insult any ipk3 fans but this is my opinion why i dont watch this show regularly. I do sometimes watch it to see barun's handsome face

@Angles11 & Paytonlee:

Maybe Indian audience is not ready for romance at prime time. But despite being a highly romantic show even season 1 was a hit and even some shows on SP have a balance of romance drama and family politics.

For example Gul's other show. I think that worked becase of the Brothers, their charm and the family drama as well as romance. The other thing that works for them are that the character are VERY likeable. Almost all the characters have a fan following. Especially the three guys and their respective pairings. This is a HUGE asset for the show and has been instrumental in its success. Even they didn't always have smooth sailing. But once I decided to watch it, I was sold from the Brothers Damaal entry scene on that Yatch. I was like "Three hot guys on a Yatch?" Then the Maha Arti...Three Hot Guys in white! It ALL worked for the show.

This show also needs balance and more than just leads romance to make this show work. The characters need to appeal. The drama needs to appeal. People need to see where this is going, not just science experiments in the path to revenge with two strange servants in tow. There is something not gelling there and this is what the makers need to work on to get punters off the street to watch this show and give it TRP. B fans will watch the show for him. But that itself won't bring TRP. People off the street don't care much to just look at good looking faces. They need a lot more to focus on a story long term. That is what the makers need to give them. Simple as that. I don't see why it can't be done. Already Veer and Shika appeal to people. Show them more and cut the SS of Lipstick Mausi. That would be a good step in the right direction!

S1 probably also worked because they showed a very beautiful bond between Anjali and Arnav.

@Arshika_Arshi - ok through words he might be blaming others too but has he actually tried harming them in any way possible?or is all the torture and sexual intimidation reserved for chandni?
