Mouni Roy became a household name with her Television series Naagin where she played Shivanya. Now the actress is all set to foray in Bollywood opposite Akshay Kumar in upcoming sports drama, Gold. It is believed that superstar Salman Khan got the actress her big launch as he recommended her name for the auditions

After noticing the talent of Katrina Kaif, Sonakshi Sinha and Daisy Shah, it seems Salman was impressed with Mouni Roy as she made brief appearances for the promotions of her show Naagin during Bigg Boss 10.


According to reports, it is Mouni's dedication and commitment towards her professional life that made Salman suggest her name for an audition in Gold. And the talent powerhouse that she is, Mouni cracked the audition and got the part.

The plot of Gold takes us back to Indian hockey team's historic win at the 1948 London Olympics, its first victory as an independent nation.

The film also stars popular actors Kunal Kapoor, Amit Sadh and Sunny Kaushal in important roles.
