Kashibai is being shown as the perpetual rothi-sundari.
The name was given to her in childish spite. However it fits her perfectly, as the adult Kashi is shown crying or tearing up almost every time she appears on screen.
The CVs have determined to mess up her character. She and Rakma (Chimna's wife) are shown as jobless housewives. I confess my knowledge of history is poor nevertheless I cannot imagine that Peshwan bai and her DILs would have been idle throughout the day. Life was hard then and I imagine they would have been occupied with their housework and helping the masses.
To show Kashi mopping around all day is really unfair to her. Yes, I can see her crying some - because crying is a non violent way of releasing stress. But they show her tearing up at the drop of a hat. The CVs are showing her psychologically weak while they are making great effort in showing Mastani as emotionally strong and a source of support for her family.
This is downright unfair to Kashibai - she deserves better. In her life she has shown a high sense of emotional maturity - just by the one act of taking care of Mastani's kid. She did not do it for Bajirao - she did it to preserve Maratha dignity or the dignity of the swaraj cause. Because if Shamsher were brought up as a Muslim and had any leanings towards the Mughals - it would be a big shame for Marathas and their cause! By bringing Shamsher under her fold - she raised a Krishnarao who died for the cause of Swaraj!
