The characters are contradicting themselves as per episode requirement.MehRya stand like duellists across drawn swords for a scene then swing like compass needle to magnetic north ,with chitrahaar not sure anymore what's with this unpredictability & sudden turn around of characters, last week we were trying to uncover the blanket person this week it's the person in sack 😆
The positive from Friday's episode was Mehak's sensible voice towards the end of the episode, but when she settles for less & complains for more it doesn't gel, how far will she keep giving without getting appreciation & self respect back, there can be no growth in darkness, how will same efforts yield different results, it's our choice that changes & shapes our destiny not chance , she has given umpteen chances to all her users & abusers 😕
Agree with you, Shaurya's apologies are (as of now) the only twisted regrets & redemption we've seen & about Mehak & doormat..well for that she needs to get up from the floor 😛

@bold
I think in a remote corner of my heart I too wish that one day Shaurya will change for good, just like that stupid Mehak.😆 I guess that's why I keep coming back to it. We too are settling for less here and then complain about it. Wonder why?!😆 My husband hates it that I am still following this show. He tries to lure me into watching his favorite Futurama episodes with him so that I won't have time to think about this show and spoil my mood. I guess it has something to do with the female species. They just can't let go easily and then complain about it.😕

What stood out to me with both these sayings is the impossible expectation from both - never have a woman cry and be everything in one package to a man! But that and a bit of a language aside (you probably can attribute that to the complexity of the language and times) I don't see this as anti feminist at all. It is infact exalting the qualities of woman and talking of all that a woman is and asking for man on his part to put her on a pedestal and treat her with respect and love for all that she does. Although impossible to follow, I actually like the essence of what this is saying...

Diya,

I find a lot of these seemingly eulogizing/romanticizing bits in our literature as traps for women. There is already so much pressure on women to be perfect and even when they are perfect sometimes a male ego can't handle their perfection. Sad truth. Its about time women embrace themselves for who they are and not try to please anyone.

So let me twist the first poem to suit the present times. I would say a man should not marry a woman if he doesn't find her very attractive and sexy when she has no makeup on and is sleeping with her mouth agape, slightly snoring and probably drooling a little from the corner of her mouth. Well that's what marriage is! We live with each other, not visit once in a while, and you cannot tiptoe around your man for the fear that he might find you unattractive if you relax a little. A man should not marry a woman if he cannot treat her as his equal, because you don't consider someone's counsel unless you consider them your equal or better. A man should not marry a woman if he cannot appreciate her cooking/all the chores she does around the house and if he cannot help her with all of those. A man should not marry a woman if he doesn't realize that she is a human and she has a threshold limit beyond which she might not put up with his bullshit.

So basically, a man should find the right woman for himself instead of trying to hammer any woman into the mold that suits him.
