I think my post is at a risk of being irrelevant and highly irritating at this moment but I couldn't help but share how eerily Sonakshi has stayed true to the caring, god-mother type personality she had.
To be very honest, the reason for my absence from the forum was that I wasn't fully satisfied with the episodes and I thought it is better to hold myself back if I didn't have anything good to say about it.

Today I found it, So I am back😆

I was watching episode 103 today (as a part of my 'one old episode per day routine) and it struck me that this 'I-am-always-willing-to-help-FAMILY' Sona is not new at all!
As much as I am annoyed with Devakshi literally being on a mission to get everything alright, specially Sonakshi taking the lead. . .The truth is it has been a part of Sonakshi's core character.
And Dev's apologies (practically I am fed up of those too🥱) reflects his core character again, doing anything to make his family happy.

In Episode 102-3, Sonakshi tries to bond with Ishwar over the hawan list and Ishwari mercilessly keeps cutting her off until Sona emphasises on Ish-Dev bond. That's when Ishwari shares how Dev is an atheist because he thinks God never lived upto his mom's expectations.

What does Sonakshi do?
Instead of just touching the matter and leaving it, she almost had an argument with Dev (few of her firsts) to convince him. She made sure she tried her best that Dev did the right thing.
Even if that meant exposing the difference of opinions they had.
Back then, she was just Dev's lover. Not a bahu, not his wife. . Still there are so many incidences where Sonakshi, with all her right, kept involving herself in Dev's family matters to 'solve' things.
Be it Neha-Ranveer financial issue which led to their very first fight and also the second one😆 be it Rhea issue where she almost lost her own marriage or this hawan.

Sonakshi has always been a woman-on-a-mission kind of girl specially when it comes to leading Dev to the right path because she can see how pious Dev's intentions are, how much he cares for the family, she makes sure Dev is able to see the world from a different perspective than from his unidemensional protective glasses.

And Dev, as always, is still the person who doesn't hesitate one moment to apologize if he has hurt someone. This man could wait for 3 (or 5?) hours for his mother's nutritionist just to apologize and here the matter is about 7 years.

Doesn't matter if GKB is at fault too, doesn't matter if she is evil, doesn't matter if his sisters were equally responsible for abandoning him during that sensitive time. . But if he thinks he had a role in hurting his family or anyone..He makes sure he apologizes.

I now think it is very very important for Dev to go through these stages of guilt to heal completely from the damages of the past.
I was literally sulking that Devakshi are given literally no importance until yesterday. . But then, as they said. . Their story is incomplete until they find the lost pages of their love story. . Only then they can proceed.
Gradually, as Sonakshi helps Dev to face the guilt (which is really painful to watch) and erase it all forever. . Replacing it with love again. . They will come closer automatically.

Their first romantic scene after their reunion came only when this Rhea-Nikki issue was openly discussed.
After they patched up with Rhea, we got a hug.
As Dev heals and Sona helps him do so , which also is that way because Sona also lives in the guilt of separating Dev from his true self, his core caring self. She has seen him change due to his troubled past and only when she actually sees him in his old form, the Dev who cared for everyone..Will she be able to love him like no one else.
Plus seeing Dev being blamed for the mistakes he unknowingly did . . Must be a pain for Sonakshi.
Unless Dev rectifies them all willingly, they cannot move ahead.

So now, I believe this track was the need of the hour.

The beautiful differences we see now is how Ishwari has started thinking about her own identity and how Dev just blindly trusts Sonakshi to lead him. .This man has full faith in his lady, that she would do what is best for him!

Saumiee i missed ur posts. 🤗
But i got a fair idea of what u were thinking from twitter. 😆

N u have spotted the nerve of both of them.
Sona was always like this only, even before she became Dev's lover or wife. When she was nutritionist, she has this habit of fixing everything. Sometimes i feel she has OCD of getting things right. 😆 That's her core nature and she always works towards it only. The good thing now is she is not ignoring Dev and is keeping him in loop.

Dev as u said has always been a family man. He waited for sonakshi for 4 hrs to say sorry on behalf of his family. He said sorry to ranveer when GKB accused him as thief (n we got our ILU Dev from Sonakshi) etc etc. Dev the sorry machine is doing all this to keep his family together. No matter how much I am irritated with his sorry marathon, somewhere i understand from where it is coming from and how important it is for him. So for my own sanity, I am just keeping Dev's POV in my mind, whenever he says sorry.

So, they r being true to their characters with new learning i must say.

About Devakshi, I am badly waiting for their past to be discussed within themselves. Apart from their families they were also hurt. N i wanted it to start from them and then spread it to families. But they have taken opp route, so i am waiting for Devakshi taking center stage.

@saumiee Very well analysed and written post, while I do agree with some of the points that you have brought forward, I have a slightly different take on this.
While I do agree that probably Sonakshi's core personality is still the same but I feel whenever there is a situation concerning Dev where there is a difference of opinion between the two she somehow tries to paint Dev's POV with hers. Let me put forward some situations where I have felt this, in the Hawan episode while I do understand that she was trying to show Ishwari's POV but before doing that if she would have understood Dev's POV as to why he does not believe in god and tried to make him understand it would have been better. Same holds true during the talks of Neha's marriage where she was upset with Dev, even in that situation if she would have talked to Dev regarding his fears with respect to Neha it would have been better though she understood it later.
I remember in one episode where Dev had asked her as to why she never stopped Saurav from over eating even though she is a nutritionist and her response was that if that was what makes Saurav happy then they would not stop him, shouldn't the same hold true for Dev as well.
In yesterday's episode itself she was justifying Nikki's relationship while I am not against live in relationship but it's not necessary that Dev approves of it as well, he might have his own thought process and would have been better if she tried to understand that.

I guess what irritates some of us apart from Dev's non-stop apologies 😆 & Devakshi's mission of fixing everything 😆 is that while Sonakshi is trying to understand everyone's POV when it comes with respect to Dev I have at least not seen her understanding his POV the way she understands others.

Again just my POV, no offence.

@ Saumee
Your analysis is too good. But I agree with SP 12 ,Sonakshi genuinely understands every one but Dev. She never thinks Dev's point of view also may work for the issues they deal with.

I agree Sonakshi remained the same. Her core ch. did not change. But isn't it true that a person has to change for the better and evolution is the basic trait to be adopted for the growth of a ch?

She can understand Nikki, she can respect her relationship with Laksh. But did she atleast once think about Dev's opinion and his feelings towards that? Even when he tries to explain citing his mother's problem with such relationship she just decides to shrug it off. Yes. She says she can not do anything without Dev. But there ends the matter. She will move forward in her own way,not paying heed to Dev's thoughts on the issue addressed. Like you said she kept him in the loop. He is a mere spectator who can not take a step without her consent.

Ofcourse Dev tries to please every one and since it is difficult to please every one, ends up hurting some one or every one. If he continues with the streak of his apologies,Dev will become a weak, indecisive, and helpless ch,always waiting for the nod of Sona to move ahead.

Saumiee...you have tried your best to bring the usual positivity see in your posts.
But, I am feeling bad that your post also couldn't help me out. Infact, it made me more critical about Sona. You mentioned about how Sona succeded in convincing Dev to sit for the hawan. And that, it is the same trait we are seeing in Sona now. Agreed and I am appreciating what Sona did, when she was his lover. And that is what even Dev told her during his confession - that she makes him a better person. That means Dev was a good person and he wanted to become better with her around. But, what did happen? Dev became a ruthless and bad person. I know many people were at fault here. But, as I have mentioned in the analysis thread, I am now having a question - Didn't Dev's breakdown on Sona's engagement day where he poured out his helplessness in not being able to end his life because of his responsibilities, have any effect on Sona? If it had, then Sona never would have left Dev just like that; atleast when everything cooled down and she was back to her senses, she would have made a full hearted effort to inform Dev about Soha.

And because of this thought, I am feeling bad that I am not being able to appreciate any of Sona's genuine efforts now. For me, it looks like, a beautiful flower vase got broken by Sona because of her carelessness and now she is now trying very hard to fix it back. Noting else.

Sorry to hurt anyone...Sona's emotionless expressions & Dev being portrayed as someone who is wholly responsible for what all have happened has driven me crazy...Maybe upcoming episodes will change my views...If not, I am thankful to the makers for helping me to slowly detach from the show.

P.S. Irony is that, in real life I admire Erica more than Shaheer. But, that also is not helping me to think positively about Sona...kudoos to these two for their acting talents.

Thank you so much...this is the must needed post at this hour...I really loved the way all the characters are intact to their core principles ...
When I saw the episode where riya rudely cut the phone I was surprised but when DRV came to her it was fantastic the way they showed it ...she was just upset and was waiting for him...I loved it
Now also I can find ishwari insecurities but not for Dev but devakshi😆

Thank you so much for the responses everyone😃 Accept my apologies for being so lousy in replying, thanks to poor health and studies!
Really interesting and thought provoking replies. I would like to know if some of you still hold the same opinion about Sona fixing things..Some 6-7 episodes later.
I totally agree that Sonakshi fixing things always is not correct, and I never said that as well😃 What I wanted to convey was, whether it is right or wrong, to assist Dev in fixing things, it is a part of Sonakshi's core character. Almost in all cases, we take an action . . Because from our perspective, that is the best thing to do. Sona is doing the same thing, she thinks she knows how the problem can be solved and thus, she is trying her best to do that.
Moreover, a lot of power has been given by Dev to her. Earlier, during the hawan sequence, Dev had dusted her opinions then and there by raising his voice..When Sonakshi said "I know" by saying "You don't Know!" . . Now Dev is much more open to Sonakshi's suggestions. It is like giving her the keys to his life.
This doesn't mean Dev's own opinions have totally taken a backseat, it's just that he is much more open to have them moulded.
Yes, Sona can be very assertive about her opinions and it may not be very pleasing. .But this has helped Dixit family sort out their issues too.
I think Sona's character has that 'do it immediately' kind of driving force. While Ishwar, Dev and the sisters had been constantly thinking about each other, Sonakshi's mission in a literal sense, forced all of them to face each other.
I think this itch to fix things 'right now' works for the Dixits. This could not work for them 7 years back though.
Now, they are more open to her ideas and Sona is ready to suppress hers as well.
Reg the nikki issue, if Sona thinks Dev is not very happy about the idea of a live in relationship, she did not force him to think otherwise. Just requested him to give them some time. And I think the moment, Sona saw nikki with Lakshya on Day 1, the shock on her face reflected how it was slightly unacceptable as per her ideas as well. Even to Dev she said, "this concept may not be understood by our generation" but because she knows there is nothing they can do about a girl already too distant from her brother and family, all she can do is patiently wait till they actually start communicating.
Even for Dev, I think what was bothering him more was how right the guy was for nikki. Nikki's step is clearly an escape from the bonds she had witnessed being broken. Family, Marriage etc broke right in front of her. . This was a way of her solace. It was very fortunate that Lakshya turned out to be a good guy, but God forbid, if he had been someone who took advantage of her vulnerability (and this is not a rare case in our society) What could have happened?
And yes, constant evolution is always a must for growth..But no matter how much we evolve, the core person always remains the same. These personality traits come from the soul within, unfortunately cannot be altered in years.
Don't know whether I could convey what I felt. .
But to sum up, I just felt that what Sona is doing has always been a part of her personality, that doesn't necessarily mean it is correct. . Undoubtedly Her intentions are good though. Also, I don't think this will lead to any bizzare consequence now.😊
