Although, I was getting slightly uncomfortable from the last few episodes...today's one...just disappointed me like never before...I, for the first time, felt that this show is definitely going to travel the regular path now...let me put my concerns one after the other below:-
(1) Mukhi is just a Sarpanch, for heaven's sake: - Since the time, the kidnapping and attempt to rape episode began...there were numerous views about rightful or wrongful conduct of Mukhi and Lalji respectively. As a lawyer myself, let me just state the only rightful option available in this case. The crimes committed by Lalji were 'Kidnapping', 'molestation', 'Causing Grievous Physical Hurt' and 'Attempt to Rape'...all four are punishable offenses under the Indian Penal Code. No Panchayat, Sarpanch or anyone, except for the Police has any jurisdiction over such matters. The most appropriate action in this case on behalf of Mukhi should have been getting Lalji 'arrested'...as simple as that. Also, how could Aru forget the murder of another man, in whose body, Lalji planted the bomb?? That is again 'Culpable Homicide'??? How could Mukhi just leave him out of the village limits..free...this, in itself is an offense (not reporting the matter to the police).
(2) Prohibition of Liquor: - Any state or locality, where liquor is banned...and if contraband liquor is found to have been made or supplied from such place, then also it calls for severe punishment and rigorous imprisonment. Gujarat is one such state. The premises, where liqour was made, was the property in the name of Raidhan Katara...he has to surrender himself to the authorities first and then plead ignorance. (For example, if in my absence, a crime is committed on my premises...I am directly answerable to the police...) How can he delegate the job to Arjan to get the pawn arrested?? And the heights was, when Arjan also further delegated the drivers to take him to the police station.
I just don't understand why can law and medicine, not dealt with, some seriousness!! Lalji does not deserve death sentence...which many viewers are suggesting but he definitely deserves to be arrested and sentenced to rigorous imprisonment by a court of Law...Mukhi is not THE LAW or THE JUDGE or THE POLICE...Come on!!
(3) Negative over Positive: - The reason I was drawn to this show was the power of sheer positivity of the leads and the weak villans...but today's episode clearly gave me a glimpse that the tough ride of the couple, hereinafter begins. Lalji is a free man...Arjan is awaiting revenge...and Rami...don't even want to think what she may do!! So, basically when they are on the verge of realising their love for each other...we are thrown into a pool of lizards to deal with!!
(4) Saanvi: - I always wanted to see an Indian daily where they show a healthy male-female friendship...which is pure, platonic, healthy and yet very close...no insecurities...but Alas!! this show also has made a mockery of the so-called healthy friendship!! Could they not have done it any other way?? And the worst is, Aru's immature and rude reaction...I never thought her to be so impulsive...people don't loose it in love (be it 22 or 52 year old, any one)...sorry, I couldn't buy Aru's reaction in the pre-cap!! Possessiveness, Jealousy, I understand totally... but not like this. Why can't Indian TV be subtle??? Why do they have to show over-reactions always...
Frankly, I see...not a remarkable segment coming in the week ahead...but I do hope that they sail through these tides with elan. Right now, disappointed!!

Me too. Disappointed with today's episode. 😕
I can understand they have to glorify the head of the village. But the crimes being committed are punishable by law. Those are serious offenses. By showing that only the village sarpanch and panchayat should handle them...is very wrong message...if everybody starts to take law into his own hands, there wil be no difference between jungle raj and a decent society.

Pre cap...Aru was never like that...Don't know why they are suddenly making her change so much. If they want to end the show this month, fine. But at least don't stray from the wonderful journey we have had so far...It was those subtle things about Armu relationship that was so delicious. Now they are turning it into those regressive soaps that run for years with any head or tail. I hope the makers don't go that way. 😕

good analysis dear...i agree to ur evry point 😳... first time ever from the starting of the show today i too felt disappointed......feeling very clumsy about the happenings today...
yeah as u said in the case of lalji n liqour prohibition ...yes there must be a legal action towards it...but as a village's sarpanch n a village wer the sarpanch's rule is evrything may be dealing with these type of cases like this only i guess🥱...n thats wat should be changed in such places...that should be dealt legally but not on panchayat's or a person's decision...in today's epi that was the step taken by mukhi...n i disliked it ...n one more thing is if mukhi's decision was that..then a sensitive and responsible girl like aru should have opposed it and should have suggested with the way u mentioned...that was disappointing ...

n yeah a key point wen aru was yelling of the post mortem of the dead body..mukhi supported it n after that the topic was lyk vanished in the air😕...

so many loose ends that day n today the list just increased🤢...and the list of reasons for rami, arjan and lalji to avenge aru is increased...to give us danger signal🤢

ab pata nhi aage kya kya dekhne ko milega...as in precap they directly jumped to the jealousy track leaving this main plot😕

Hi Debasri, very nice reviews and you just took my words! I am so with you about Aru's reaction (she is very different than others girls) she never been judgemental?? And all the points you show about the law and punishment they show it very normal (it's not) doesn't matter where these kind of crimes happened city or village law should be the same?? Don't know I am kinda disappointed too after watching today's episode! But thanks for your reviews!

Thanks Rose, Princy Angelic and Tshaheen...for responding. Appreciate it!!😊😊
Actually, the reason I am disappointed is the fact that we thought this show would be different...defying all sorts of cliches and rise above the tried and tested formula...a hardworking, self-respecting, courageous, righetous- Heroine and an emotional, impartial, good-hearted, progressive, feminist HERO. This expectation is my cause of disappointment...may be I was asking for too much!!
I also felt that the makers were consistent in the story line...like how they are showing that Mukhi has not completely healed from the injury...a small bandage...an unhealed wound...a slight difficulty in getting up from the bed etc. was such a pleasant surprise. They did not forget the major accident that Mukhi had...just a couple of days ago!!
After showing all of this, now suddenly, they are becoming irrational with LAW!! I mean, this is heights!! Frankly, when the public vents their frustration in rape cases demanding death penalty for the accused...I sometimes, want to tell them...that rape in most cases, does not deserve death penalty...the crime would be seriously prevented if the trial and sentencing of the accused is done swiftly. What do they show here...??he attempted rape, caused physical hurt and what not??...has been left free!!! I mean, I simply don't want to believe this!!! A channel that is running on shows like CRIME PATROL and raising awareness about such things...is airing another show, which is just making a mockery of the criminal-justice system!! Trust me, I feel disgusted, when I see such blatant disregard for our revered institutions like the Police, Courts etc.
I am not that excited now...for the next episode...may be that I am hyper-reacting...but just that this is OCCUPATIONAL HAZARD in my case.😊

P.S. The salt on my wounds is ARU's degradation...could CVs not have let the female and male leads be...?? Why butcher their beautifully fleshed out characters???😭

This post says exactly what I was feeling. The fact that they completely forgot that man who got burnt really irks me. What about his family finding him missing? When Mukhi says that they are too late, then what about the next scene when he talks to the villagers. Why did he not discuss about who the man could have been? Why have they not informed the police of such a dangerous incident like a bomb blast? Why no investigation? I am not able to get over this point.

I had earlier imagined a story where Mukhi gets arrested for illegal bootlegging... I think actually that it would have been a logical step in the story. For a Gandhian to be caught bootlegging. But no, he just burns the factory and ends that.

Rape, molestation has been dealt with so callously. They immediately showed Aru being all playful with Mukhi with not an emotion whatsoever connected to what happened the same day. Very careless!

Like I have said earlier, this show has spoilt us hoping to expect a classy storyline with a classy treatment. The very things that made it stand apart from the rest. Looks like we are being brought down to earth.

The precap seems more like a dream to me. It is very unlike Aru's character. Will be highly disappointed if they go the way of the typical saas bahu shows. I would much rather they end it the way they started.

I have no problem that todays episode was like a police diary or crime patrol or whatever, but atleast they should have dealt with the issues logically. We all know that the kind of viewers that are attracted to this show are different - much more mature and 'sane'. Well then, I am sorry but we need the logic. It did not appear to bother me too much in the other episodes, but this one...😲

Yes , letting Laalji go was a let down...and too many loose ends to tie...both Mukhi and Aru need a wake up boost and let their brain cells start working better.

In fact I have always felt odd that Mukhi is never in the know of whats happening in his house and village..his sister hides a man in the house..Aru realizes the light being on in the room but Mukhi never realizes...Aru hears Rami feeding Laalji wakes up and goes out , tries to catch the man and watched him burn and yells..thats when Mukhi wakes up...

Basically they have shown Mukhi to be gandhian..ashimsa vaadi and very ethical..but he should realize the world around him is not like that. He doubts Rami..but instead of observing her he direclty questions her..and accepts her fake emotional replies. He DOES NOT DOUBT HIS PEOPLE. That is a flaw ..probably they have purposely kept the flaw so that Aru takes up finding and fighting on his behalf, to let her add value to her stay.

I have felt odd while watching all the episodes so far that Mukhi doesnt seem to know much about Rami at all...he trusts Rami and Arjan blindly. He also has some guilt about Rami..so he gives her a lot of control in the house. This is different from Aru that she knows her sisters flaws and blames her for them , but chooses to forgive. But she doesnt deny her sisters flaws.
Thats Aru's value add to Mukhi that she will show some of his family members bad sides to him and fight for him.

Yes, too many loose ends they should show AruMukhi smartening up and dealing with them. I think here is the deal...this is a love story and rest of the characters are means to take the story forward, including the villains. If Mukhi nabs and punishes the villains so soon they cannot take the story forward...as in they can show him unraveling all this in a an episode and then what can they show...
So probably they are focusing more on the love story and less on logical loose ends..which is why treatment of AruMukhi scenes is much more sensitive and thoughful than the way they deal with villians.

Very well written Debasri. I don't want to say i'm disappointed, but I'm surprised the way it's all rushed and the crime committed were ignored.

Few days ago when Mukhiji supported Aru's decision of calling the police he clearly drew the distinction of a petty crime like thievery to heinous crime like bomb blast and homicide. Today and yesterday the way things turned out that thought was all but forgotten. When Aru was not found and Mukhiji made a call to the police i was actually expecting the police to show up even if they are late as a crime has been reported and when they didn't Mukhiji didn't seem concerned at all.

Secondly he was punishing Lalji not as a Mukhiji but a common man I think (i could be wrong) as he removed the turban and dragged Lalji to the jeep. He became a husband and he let his emotions get the best of him.

Same with finding the liquor hideout. He set the place on fire and destroyed all the evidence and once back at the factory even after finding evidences of crime he just roared and let Arjun take all the decisions right under his nose. He didn't even act as Mukhi.

These 2, 3 days incidents could've been a groundbreaking example for the Amboli gaav to understand the differences between petty crime vs. heinous crime that should be punishable by law. And he could've called the Panchayat as well as law and order to institute more reformed rules for the village people to follow making it a safe place for all.

Just my two cents.

Thanks Mallika, Bluejalpari and Lacustris...for responding and for your well-made and such valid points.
The writers are indeed showing a very self-contradictory behavior of Aru and Mukhi. Aru saw Lalji in Rami's room during Mishri's wedding...yet, she seems to have no iota of doubt on Rami. Mukhi- the man, whom we all hailed last week for standing by Aru for the sake of justice when he insisted on calling the police...now, is acting just so weird!! It seems all the more illogical, when we know that he is a Presidential Awardee!!
I understand that if villains are caught red-handed so soon...the show would have hardly anything to offer in the future...so, the better way should have been that they showed Lalji escaping...or staying under hiding for longer...or for that matter Aru (who is shown to recognize a person from a-far looking into the colour of the eyes, from the rear-view mirror of a truck) should not have found Lalji in Rami's room...because, if the girl has such a photographic memory...it becomes quite implausible to believe that she does not remember having seen him in Raami's room...and thereby has no doubt on Rami whatsoever. She was our star-girl!! What happened to her suddenly?? Being all coy and playful with Mukhi after being abducted and assaulted in the morning???? Aru was always a mix of intelligence and cuteness...she was naturally cute!! But in this episode, I felt Aru was just trying to be cute and child-like!! The scene was quite misplaced I must say!!
The main problem is that the show actually made me believe that I can expect a certain standard from the makers. It seemed as if it is meant for an audience whose brains are not-detachable and with basic intelligence...but the production values literally seem to be going down the drains!! Anyways, I will continue as of now...as I am too much involved in the world of Aru & Mukhi...so, lets see!!😊
