The points (for the star rankings) are based on the weekend collections.
Why only weekend collections. It should be the whole lifetime of the movie. If the star is good at his work, people will like his work and give it good WOM and that will help the movie. If Salman did a better job in Tubelight, Tubelight would get better collections. The work of an actor is part of his stardom and the BOI ranking completely ignores it by only takin in account the weekend business.
The star ranking is totally based on box office initials and nothing else. Here everything is taken into account to show the actual popularity. It takes into accout the boxoffice as well as other factors like, genre, the makers, the setup, release period, the real effect of that film on a career and everything else contributing to the position of an artist.
W*F is this? So star ranking is based on box office initials only. And the site clearly states that box office initials depend on many other factors like genre, makes, setup, etc. that has only to do with the actor/star himself. 😆 So their rankings is not really a star ranking, it,s a ranking for the popularity of the star+ genre+makers+setup, etc.
The collections on the major holidays are adjusted to give a better picture and they judged at what level the non holday collections fall at bethe day before, or next day or a couple of days later.
The site doesn't explain how they do that. Also, t's impossible to be 100% accurate with that adjustement. There are too many variables to take in account. That's a huge flaw to their system.
The Worldwide ranking is the India points plus 20% of the Overseas points as that is approx value of the Overseas market in terms of revenue compared to the India market.
How did they come up with that 20%. Seems like another bullshit to help their bias.
Conclusion: Their star rankings are BS. Their criteria are BS and that's why Aamir is #3 in india and worlwide when he clearly have the biggest grossers in india and worldwide by far.
