Tubelight had the ninth highest advance of all time in terms of the money collected at the box office before release. Earlier advance was calculated as the percentage number of tickets sold against the total availabe but this is reduntant as even the biggest films are unable to reach 20%.
Overall its a good advance but not a great one. It is ninth place in terms of collections pre release but in terms of tickets sold it is lower than Raees at number ten and lower than other films like PK, Chennai Express and Ek Tha Tiger. This is beacuse it has a higher ATP (Average Ticket Price) as tickets rates are the highest of all time at major multiplex chains and that is where the best advance is.
