Synopsis - Megala serial

Kalaiarasan and Tilaga have 5 children. Megala, sakthi, Sezhiyan, Kanmani and Kirtana. Kalai is a business man and is rich. His sister Vadivu lives with him and Kalai is a very devoted brother. He listens
to his sister totally and does all that she says. Vadivu does not like Tilaga and does all she can to split up the family. And when Megala was born, Vadivu manages to convince Kalai that Megala is not his own offspring. Kalai wants Tilaga to disown Megala if she wants to come back and live with him. Tilaga is reluctant but her parents convince her and unite her with Kalai. Megala is brought up by her grand parents and Tilaga visits her with the other kids often. Megala
is very attached to her siblings and hates Vadivu as she constantly
gets Tilaga beaten by Kalai. Once , she hits Vadivu on her haad. VAdivu faints and Megala thinks that Vadivu is dead. Runs away from home. But Vadivu survives and Kalai hates Megala more. Megala manages to study, wanders from Kerala to Karnataka, Malaysia, Andhra and finally lands in Chennai. Her friend Anitha helps her to find her family. Megala joins with her family much to the chagrin of her father and aunt.

Sakthi, the 2^nd daughter is in love with Diwahar. She is a very short
tempered person and estranges from her lover due to a silly fight. In a fit of anger, she agrees to marry Bhopathy but later realizes that she can not forget Diwa. Megala and Anitha help her to run away on the eve of her wedding and she marries Diwa. Diwa's parents are unhappy in the beginning but later relent. Sakthi is pregnant and her PILs are a nice lot.

Bhoopathy is the son of a financier, Dandapani and is a good for nothing drunkard. He loves Sakthi and is mad that she ran away
prior to the wedding. Dandapani and Kalai request Kanmani to marry Bhoopathy to uphold the family honor and she obliges in spite of her love for Saravanan, Bhoopathy's cousin.. Bhoopathy and his sister Tamarai ill treat her and takes out all their anger on her. In the meanwhile Kalai had to borrow some money from Danda and he is
not able to repay it. The project of Kalai fails and he owes a lot of money to a lot of people. Unable to face.the situation, Kalai runs away leaving his family to face the ordeal. Megala takes over the project and tries to revive it. A local dada Thyagu has his eyes on the land and kidnaps Kanmani. He demands the whole property as ransom. When Megala goes to the police, he is angry and beats up Sezhiyan black and blue. Megala is struggling to pay the sum and release Kanmani.

When Megala was on the run, she meets an old man, Ranga, who had lost all his wealth to his partner. She saves him from suicide and they both live happily as father and daughter. Megala works for a famous lawyer who has a mentally challenged wife. Lawyer is happy with the way Megala takes care of his wife. He files a case for Ranga and ges back all the money. By a quirk of fate, Megala has to leave Ranga also. When she is struggling to release Kanmani, she sees the ad placed by Ranga, asking her to return. On her way to Bangalore, she sees that Ranga is hurt in an accident . She admits him in a hospital at the right time and saves him…..
