Ranbir Kapoor's sensible take on nepotism deserves an applause!

The actor belongs to the first family of Hindi films and his opinion on legion and nepotism is worth reading...

Ranbir Kapoor is undoubtedly one of the biggest heartthrobs in the nation currently. And he obviously belongs to a legion of heavyweight actors - the first filmy family of Indian cinema.

The acting gene runs in the genes and every generation in the Kapoors have introduced some mind boggling talents in the industry. With so much emphasis been given to nepotism, especially post Kangana Ranaut's rant on Koffee with Karan, Ranbir's take on the whole incident was much anticipated.

He is a Kapoor and has definitely got it easier than most of the other newcomers who don't have any industry backing. And Ranbir isn't in denial. Rather, his take on nepotism is one of the most sensible ones and deserves an applause.

Here's what he has to say -

"I believe my great grandfather (Prithviraj Kapoor) worked really hard to give his children an opportunity in their professional life. I would like to work hard for my children so that they get the right opportunity, platform, the right first film. After that, it's about your talent. So, yes, honestly, it does exist."

After Varun and Alia screwed up and exposed their entitled, bratty selves, everyone else has smartened up.

The beauty of this answer is not that he said it exists but the way he defined the cause for it that fits Indian way of thinking. He reminded people that every person who enters this industry can or will be tempted to indulge in it at some point as the parents do want what is best for their children. There was no apology, no denial in his answer. And he helped people like KJO who can now say they were returning favor or were paid to launch the kids. 😆

why should there be an apology?...If you or I were in their place we would be thinking about our kids first unless somebody is really a saint and is devoid of normal human emotion of nurturing and wanting the best for their kids.

And yet Kjo/ Varun/Alia/Salman fumbled at answering it making the whole topic feel convoluted and so out of proportion. If someone has spent their life building connections, least they can do is give thier kids a chance.

I love how he said that it exists everywhere especially in movie business (he didn't say Bollywood) and that final decisive factor is talent (which fortunately for him he has in abundance).

It is not true that outside talent don't make it or that they are not given chance. SRK made it. Both young AB and Akshay had series of flops and still got chances, SSR/ Sid/ Ranveer/ Ayushman/ Amit Sadh/Rajkumar Roa/ Vicky Kaushal/ Kartik Aryan - all have multiple movies on hand. It is all in right connection they make and utilize the oppurtunities they get ... 😊
