Dadi always called them equals in everything. One pushes hard, the other pushes back equally hard. One (almost) loves with deep possessiveness and intensity , the other loves with selfless honesty and would destroy herself for him. Both have taken a bullet for each other.
They are so strong a unit, that only they can destroy each other, many have come and failed to separate them. Daksh came and manipulated Shivaay into hurting Annika. Pinky has done her damn best to manipulate Annika into hurting Shivaay in the worst way. Again, only they can really hurt each other.
"Tell me Annika. What is it you're carrying in your heart? "
The way Annika fell drunk into his arms made me feel sad. What a horrible thing she's been forced to do, for his safety. She knows he is strong, because he believes his strength is in his family, his name, his legacy his prestige.
But no, he is strong because he has a strong moral compass , gargantuan will power, ambitiousness, hardworking, fiercely loyal, principled and steadfast, and love for and from family keeps him going.
OmRu know him better, even Jhanvi knows him better, their instinct is to tell him and help him through it. They are his family, and they know him the best and care for him. Annika's love for him makes her want to shield him from all bad things, protect him from harm, she cannot bear to see him in pain and misery.
Whereas the caring side of his family (brothers, Jhanvi) want to help him through it. OmRu gave promise not to tell SHivaay, but they didn't promise not to tell anyone else. SO they told their mother, because responsibly, they must protect her from this drastic step she wants to take.
Jhanvi comes to make Annika see sense. Eldest Bahu to the junior. Jhanvi was always fond of Annika, and has been a well wisher of Shivaay-Annika from pre marriage. She tried to persuade Annika to tell Shivaay the truth, and they would all sort it out with him together. (that would've been perfect, problem, acceptance and solution together in one sitting. I wish...)
But Annika is petrified. She cannot see Shivaay stripped of his pride, his tadi. He is the one who was teaching her to face her fears, "Darr ko samna karo, face it and deal with it" But she fears him getting hurt the most, apart from Sahil. She succumbs to her fears, wants to avoid the pain for him altogether by giving in to Pinky's blackmail.
Annika explains that she is nobody in Shivaay's life to take him away from his mother. His mother wants this, and is prepared to burn everything down to remove Annika.
Jhanvi has always disagreed with Pinky and her methods, but she keeps a respectful barrier between them. She doesn't interfere in Pinky's life or Shivaay's, even has removed her sons from arguments because they assert their rights over their brother. I don't think she or OmRu could have changed either Pinky, Shakti or Shivaay's reactions, or interfere in their matters.
It is their family issue, Pinky, Shakti, Shivaay and his wife, Annika. That side of the Oberois are very proud of the Naam Khoon and Khandaan, save for Annika. Countless arguments later Pinky is as resistant as ever, Jhanvi cannot make the stubborn thing budge an inch.
Fine, learn it the hard way. Watch your son suffer because he lost the love of his life. The woman you conspired to get rid off. You think you're getting your son back? Think again.
But they can damn well give Annika strength, help and console her. And they are ready to face the allegations to Omkara's legitimacy, and put forth proof, Jhanvi and Tej are BOTH there, to refute that LIE as soon as it explodes.
Tej Oberoi's family with rally around each other, regroup, stay strong. Shivaay will remove the threat, Annika, from the family's vicinity. Pinky will be happy.
All fixed. Back to life as usual. Problem solved. Everyone in one piece.
Only Annika is gone. Like she never happened?
Does she think she has no value in that house? Half the house will mourn her loss. One will tear himself apart in pain. Annika herself will wish for death to come for her. Sahil will return so some hope.
OmRu will pick Shivaay up.
But who will help these two when their hearts burn for love in sleepless nights?
p/s:
1. Shivaay will probably think the secret she was talking about is Om's illegitimacy secret. "If I reveal this, a huge mess will happen." What with the fights she has been doing about property division.
Oh Annika, if only you didn't use your brain so connivingly to hurt him so precisely where he ticks.
2. Pinky is so full of venom is frightening. Her moral compass is off. She is pure rage, greed and vengeance. Shivaay is her Product, her Success, her Possession. She wants full control over what his life is. She thinks she can defeat Love, then good luck. Jhanvi looked down at Pinky for the first time today, Good Bahus come to lucky people, maybe you're not destined for it. Ow.
3. Shivaay has just begun realizing he is in love. He fingers his ring, and wants to redo his wedding vows with Annika properly, erase the bitter memories from her mind forever. He is preparing to give himself to her completely, properly.
Dadi gives him perspective, telling him he is now in Love. Billu Ishqbaazi ban gaya. He wants to make it all up to her. Dadi's words are cheesy as heck, but it put a smile on my face today. Some doses of cheese is good also..
Shivaay's shyness is SO adorable. I wish it wasn't coming at such a tragic time. Dadi presses him to say the words, teasing him mercilessly. He runs away, but returns with the words.. Love you..
4. Ranveer is suddenly looking creepy again. Dear God. Can these people just decide if they are good or bad. It's tiring.
5. Mangalsutra scene
Annika prepares herself for the pyre. Like a deathrow inmate in the last walk. She drops her mangalsutra, and it is securely caught by Shivaay. Pati Parmeshwar hai, patni ki farz flashbacks run in her mind. He puts it on for her yet again, nice and steady like its the most natural thing to do.
He wants his name on her mehendi, he loves the sight of his ring on her finger, he adores his ring, and he makes sure his mangalsutra and sindhoor is on her. The man is head over heels in love with his wife.
This visual was really beautiful to me.
Okay. it's going to be very painful tonight. Be prepared.
Okay , Annika is going to do her worst. She will hurt him as badly as he did her at their wedding. He forced her to marry, She forced him to separate from her. He may think she was out to revenge and pay him back tit for tat, but as MOST anger is between lovers, temporary.
With angels who wish them well all around, OmRu, Gauri, Jhanvi, Dadi. All will be well. We will hang on to our sanity until that happens...đ
