Anika : Done and Dusted

Hi friends,This is my first post here. Though I have been a silent reader of this forum for quite some time.

IB has been my favourite indian show in the recent years for various reasons the main one being OBros. I love love love the three of them. Their chemistry with each other and with their female leads is something to write home about.

Though, Today on the 300th episode, the makers have effectively killed the character of Anika for me. Anika was always portrayed as headstrong, independent, smart and emphatic.

Today's precap left me speechless. I am not talking about her mahaan, selfless sp bahu acts in the last few episodes. I am talking about her her blatant selfishness which I got to see in today's precap.

So to protect Shivaay's pride, she is ready to drag OM down?

I know many will say Om was in on it. I know that. The point is she dint seek him out. OmRu sought her out. Even then she wasn't ready to divulge any details initially. It was only after Ru's kasam thing that she had to, she was forced to blurt out the truth to them. Suppose the AniOmRu scene hadn't happened? What would've she done? What was her plan? Because she had asked help from tia (for daima's video) in the first day itself from the given deadline of 3 days. Lets say, if OmRu wasnt successful in inveighing the truth out of her, then. she was ready to shatter Om to protect shivaay ? Because om being emotionally vulnerable, hearing something like this would've shattered him. Hell, it wouldve shook the whole family. Hadn't she considered omru, jhanvi and the whole family's feelings? This was wrong & selfish on so many levels. And in front of media too.

The CVs have butchered many characters in the show, but Anika is the first one they killed. And I am sure she wont be the last. I can hope though.

P.S Though I am happy that OmRu know about it. Their bond with Anika was always the sweetest. :)

Also, jhanvi rocks man. Who would allow to tarnish own son's image like that? Pinky should seriously learn something from her. Proves she loves shivaay as her own.
And applause to Om too. Its not a small thing to bear on your name. Proves how Deep the Obros bond go.

No, its not about what om knows or dint know. Its about what she was willing to do. How many ppl she willing to hurt to protect shivaay. Its good omru got to know the truth n they were in on the plan. Like I said she dint seek them out to be a part of the drama.

I had the same issue too with Annika going Om illigetimate way to protect Shivaay. But I guess Tia probably told her that the video was not true and she would have assumed Jhanvi to back Om regarding it.Its still crappy but CVs could have done worse.
Poor planning by Annika but a cent times better than anything else. Because there was no way Shivaay would have thrown her out any other way.
Also it's relief that she didn't come up with a fake affair , that would have been some real character destruction.

True. Small mercies eh? Had Anika done that, that would've brought the chances of her character 'rebirth' to zero.
