Hippo - True. I have lived in North India and rarely seen anyone wearing saree. It was always salwar. As a kid , it was surprising to me because until then I have seen only sarees. And salwar was a rarity here.( Now both are equal here) .

South Indian background ladies in Pakistan wear saree on daily basis

One famous example is Zubeida aapa..she is from a famous family who migrated from south India. Her sister and brother are famous writers. I think they migrated from Hyderabad

I always had this impression that it is about region. U wont see punjabi pathans wearing much

Sari has roots in India and even if it has Hindu origins the fact that others are wearing and adopted it must be appreciated and became part of culture.

There is no need to always involve Hindu Muslim non Hindu crap into every issue...sick people. lol.. i am talking about raveena lol

Just like your conclusion is based on your life experience.

I doubt anyone on IF actual does authentic scientific study to arrive at well postulated conclusion.

Well, I agree on that. But you passed it off as fact when South India is synonymous with saree ,might I add , irrespective of religion.
