Again I have a slightly mixed upbringing so I think that's why I would disagree here. My mother has always taught me that I have the right to agree or disagree with her as a grown up and if she does something wrong which all
Humans do I have every right to question her.

By having a wife and taking care of her when she was shot, shivaay in no way has disrespected his mother. Neither by giving her credit - he clearly explained he owes his life to her. He has always been respectful but if he wants to live his own life now - what's wrong with that
Pinky is a mother who refuses to give him
Any space, rather acts like his wife not a mom- if my mom acted the way pinky does in front of my bf, I would be embarrassed to the core and call her out. And I still maintain parents earn respect by leading by example not merily by giving birth to their kids - if a parent is killer, his/ her kid shouldn't just respect them by default As per Asian family rule book 😆

I beg your pardon but shivaay was always a family man!! there are many good examples of it if you can recall, also he has always tried to maintain a balance so he can keep the two most important women in his life happy, his mother and his wife, also without genuine reasons not only his mother or anika he will not let any of his family member getting insulted by some stranger so it's not curious or strange, we have seen it in the past and like I mention above to recall some good examples, remember how sahil was blamed for stealing but he did not let anika know his true feelings because mrs.kapur was blackmailing him about om's secret and later he made sahil happy and two had a cute and happy conversation and ice-cream, and most recently anika too has realized that there's more than meets the eyes she's getting it that shivaay will not say anything which is not true without a genuine reason.

Exactly - I was not questioning anyone's parvarish either. Thankfully mine has taught me to respect her for right reasons and not because she has given me birth so every time someone says oh they need to be respected just for giving u birth leaves me pretty much open mouthed 😆 hahhaa at u being scared of ur mom till uni, I was too but as a kid only as my dad didn't say anything so mom had to be the bad cop

In the above stanza u clearly explained why pinky doesn't deserve anything more than a civilized form of respect. In my opinion, pinky has not really even contributed to her son's success. See mera beta mera beta is not contribution, u have to support them emotionally which in my opinion dadi jhanvi did not pinky. All she cared about was that he made money even shivaay admitted in the first few epis that he has to secure their future as he is a sick man - was pretty sad to watch. I prefer shakti as a parent over pinky any day. Pinky never gave him attention so her craving for his doesn't make much sense to me - u are a mother so u can easily tell
Me here - initially it's a lot of work on your end to bring up the kids, eventually it will even out when they will be older and so on. Pinky in my opinion has not done the initial work so everyone trying to defend her kind of sticks out to me that's all. She is a mother just by giving him birth, in true essence a mother is who connects to her kids through their heart/ soul as rightly said by sushmita sen who in my opinion is an amazing mother to two adopted girls - it's a connection of the heart not flesh which is totally missing in pinky - shivaay equation and it is totally her fault. He has that connection with his dadi, his tayi ( I so wanted shivaay Jhanvi relationship
