A couple of years back Akshay Anand was seen playing lead roles in the best shows of that time. These included Choodiyaan, Choti Maa and Shagun. Thereafter, he chose to keep a rather low profile and remained out of news, only doing Chi and Me on Zee TV.
Talking about why he chose to do lesser number of serials, he says, "I did two dailies back to back i.e Choti Maa and Shagun. I was exhausted and badly needed a break." Having recovered from his fatigue, he has bounced back with Saat Phere, the Hindi adaptation of Juana La Virgen and Dulhan. With three different characters to play, he hopes to do away with the monotony this time.
Talking about his role in Saat Phere he says, "I will play the role of the elder brother of the man who Saloni (played by Rajashree Thakur) will get married to."
His other serials are yet to be launched. Dulhan and the Hindi adaptation of Juana La Virgen, both are stipulated to commence on Sony.
Elaborating on the characters he is playing on these shows, he says, "I am playing Shakti Anand's friend in Juana La Virgen. My character name is Abhimanyu.
He is a flirt and is very stylish. He looks very corporate. He will be instrumental in Shakti's important decision making." He adds, "In Dulhan, I play the eldest brother. It is the story of three sons in a family – I am the reserved and cool person, while the brothers are wild. My character's life is controlled by his mother." Amit Sadh plays the second brother in this serial.
