Amma was making filter coffee
II was braiding her hair in her room
"They are very small" Appa cleared his throat
R&B smiled at his son and nodded
"That house is big she has to climb up and and down and up and down"
Amma paused as she was pouring coffee into R&B's tumbler. Holding the tiny vessel with the grip
"Umm... let her be here" Appa said quickly
"Uh" R&B ack
"She can go to Gurgaon much faster. I think she will not have any traffic" Appa grew bolder
"Its a lil too soon to be having that conversation" R&B interjected
II's belly lurched, she let go of her braid and paused staring at her reflection

Amma appeared with a forced smile and handed him the coffee
He sat up politely
He was too tall to sit straight, he slouched usually
Ved followed Amma with his eyes
"Vareya?" (wanna come to me?) Amma smiled reaching
He sensed that voice and flappedhis wings
"He knows you" R&B said
"Yes yes... they know her they know her they stop crying if I start chanting my prayers" Appa was very proud
"Thats great he said
He sipped his coffee quietly
"We are here only. My exam paper correction is also over. We can take care. You want to take her out this evening?" Amma asked politely
"It looks like it will rain" Appa quickly shot that idea down, not wanting his kozhandai getting sick
Amma grunted and signaled him to let go of the "let II stay here for 6 months" rant.
"The boys are used to this house. She is used to the routine. She went for compartment exam proctoring. Thats done. She will be home in summer" Appa listed
"Umm" R&B sipped
His son watched his mouth and moaned
"Hey is that food? How about u give me some pal?" he urged
"this is coffee' R&B chuckled huskily
"Yes yes... they know coffee... my mother will say Iyer babies know the taste the smell and the sound of filter coffee" Appa was joyous
"Ha" chuckled R&B
"My grandmother in those days will dip a finger in her coffee and give it for taste" Appa went down memory lane
R&B looked at him suspiciously wondering if he actually did that with his tykes
"They know when she is in the room" Amma said loudly announcing II's arrival
Amma had gone inside and hissed at her daughter to "change into pretty clothes and get out and mingle"
She wore a green ikat kurta and a orange chudidar
He turned and ogled
"Is he crying she asked him"
He shook his head following her with his gaze as she went and sat on teh divan
"Amma neku coffee" (What abt me?) II asked her Amma
Amma chuckled
"I am making pao bhaji for dinner if u drink coffee now?" Amma said walking into the kitchen
"U seem to be getting pampered" R&B whispered ogling her again thru eyes like slits
Sid gurgled loudly
"I like this boy" Appa said with pride
"Thanks" said R&B
Appa looked at him like
"Why are YOU ack? They both look like my daughter"
"I told him kanna, you can stay here" Appa said cheerily
"He did... but I havent given him an answer one way or the other" R&B said quietly
"They will love it" II claimed shrilly
"She will get rest" Appa said
R&B looked at Appa like... "REALLY NOW?"
MM had 4 help for 3 people, not to mention Sam was already interviewing a nanny each for the boys
"Her body has gone through a lot" Amma said gently so as to take the sting out of Appa's proprietorial wish
"Hmmm" R&B ack Amma politely
Appa got up handed Sid to II and went inside to bring his glasses
Amma went to see who was calling on her phone that lay on Amma Appa's bed
"I know why he is desperate to have her go back. After 9 years she has had twins. Umm" Appa dragged and stopped
"You cant keep her here until her menopause" Amma hissed
"She needs rest I say" Appa hissed
"U can stay here for some time too you know" II said
"I cud... but we agreed" he waved a finger
"Only because they were twins you let me stay here" II looked at him accusingly
"I agree" he admitted coolly, as she sidled up to him sitting by him, with an affected flirtatiousness
"He cares for me thats why he keeps saying I will recover soon" II defended her Appa
That completely pissed him off
"No, he continues to play his lil games. He hates me as much as he did 10? years ago when I walked in the door and said we need to get married" he said softly looking intensely into her eyes, not at al amused
"Thats not true" she lied quickly
"Id be a fool if I didnt know why he doesnt want to send you and the babies" he said exhaling
The boys tried to grab each others' fists drooling all over their parents
"this is good stuff Siddu... these two smell like someone we know" "this man is tall, when he walked around with me I liked the view from my perch"Ved gurgled
"I hear ya bro" Amma's tall but the dude is... woww" Sid agreed
"My Dad thinks I shudnt quit my job. You dont care for my career. My Dad cares for my career more than you?" II said in a "angst"y voice
"Nope! He hopes by keeping you here for 6 months I wont get laid" he said mirthfully
II turned red...
"He hates me exactly as much as he did" he said again
