hi guys ! This question has been bugging me for a long time now . Ever since shivaay and annika have been married .

Has shivaay accepted annika because she is his wife and there is no way out ? Post daksh and tia 's revelation does he feel compelled to accept annika out of guilt ?

Now adding upon that guilt is the truckload of delinquency and misconduct done upon an orphan who had no backup !

I know shivaay has been struggling between his heart and mind ever since he met annika , he always tried to prove her wrong , and failed miserably but that didn't dissuade his mindset . Until recently when he got to know about her pathetic past . He did announce her his lawfully wedded wife to the world and declared her importance but he still had this reservation when it came to expressing his true feelings.

I am okay with him taking time to adjust to her and change his mindset , like he said its a long process . But i cannot stop thinking the way he said "now that we have accepted eachother" ... That dialogue hit me ! I dont want them to compromise in the name of marriage . That they are together because there is no way out . what if he hadnt married annika ? Would he still pursue her and propose marriage because he had feelings or would he ignore that and go ahead and marry tia and live in his delusional life .

I don't think neither anika nor shivaay are bound by marriage, certainly not shivaay. Remember the marriage ritual forced one! One day marriage where he said he would divorce her next day. Nobody can force shivaay to do anything unless he himself wants it.

I think even anika is not staying due to marriage. She says because of NKK he might reject anytime, he doesn't love me😆 but i love him and will stay on stil dream lasts. So i guess her side also marriage is not the reason.

He did make that statement but the ever righful dadi was literally forcing annika down his throat and he was helpless . Especially after the reveation of sahil's disability , daksh 's lie and suspicious kapoors . The whole thing was getting delayed !

I believe dadi is just a bahana because ONS MU was hogging him. 😆 That time too he cared for her. He can't say ONS doesn't matter being old fashioned that he is. 😆

After that there have been so many testing times where he could have got free for his own family sake like the current NKK issue also? Or Om's illegitimacy blackmail? I in his place would have thrown her out if my bro will face issues. But he could only pretend to sign the papers. 😆

I agree with u 😆 but u c the cvs always give us half baked stories and its only recently that they have let us into the mind of shivaay . Coz it was still not clear why he chose to pretend sign the papers .. Was it coz he is sso and he knew if he divorced annika , tia usko kacha chaba jayegi or was it because of his hidden desires !! Lol i think too much 😆

I always wonder this too... how would it have played out if he didnt marry her, and instead cancelled the wedding altogether. My guess is that it would have taken him many months to man up and pursue her completely.

Actually I didn't watching Ishqbaaz since the beginning but I think Shivaay just searched for a reason to marry or"get Anika.From the very beginning he was mesmerized by her but wouldn't accept or reveal it.The forced marriage was just a "bahana"for him.If not by force he would get close to her anyway.

These 2 don't believe in Love, as it comes in movies or greeting cards. They both live in the real world with real problems and have been left to deal with most problems for others. Their position of responsibility gives them a cynical viewpoint of romance.

For these two the main currency of value is Trust. These two trust each other with their lives and and their loved ones. Time and again they have proven precious to each other.

I have to keep telling myself, that these 2 are different and unconventional. When Shivaay has made a commitment, as he has now, it can't be a compromise because he feels so deeply for Annika. It has changed him. He smiles, he is less angry, he is thoughtful and sweet , he is loving with Sahil, he takes care of her. Even his version of what a husband "should" be has changed.

I feel, we have seen the character change from SSO to Annika's Shivaay version 2.0, his best version. Once he doesn't feel cynical about the word Love , when it comes to her ,he'll realize he loves her.

Annika has been changing since the marriage. The brash and independent girl fought tooth and nail not to get married , she was literally dragged through each one ritual. She takes vows seriously esp ones she made to God. So she has been loyal to her marriage vows from the beginning, even as he has been trying to toss her out.

She never imposes on him, just does her duty sans drama. It was like another burden God put on her head for her to deal with.

But slowly she saw that Shivaay made her feel important to him. He never let her go. She started trusting him more than herself. Someone cared for her and his presence in her life became something she valued. His strength, his conviction , his power to make things happen. He even showed his weakness to her and she will protect that from everyone.

Hahah long story short, their marriage is bound now by immense trust and understanding, Love is like a garnish up on this dish.

People shouldn't look at compromise in marriage as a flawed ideology. It depends on what the compromise even is. Shivaay is foregoing his NKK and Annika is learning to lean on her husband. This is not really wrong. This was to be expected, because these things decrease the distance between them.

Honestly, the way Shivika are portrayed, it seems like their jodi was ordained by God itself. Even if Shivaay hadn't forced her, he would have eventually came to this crossway and chosen Annika because he is smitten with the girl.

It's obvious he was into her first, but his ego and his deeply rooted principles got in the way.

I interpreted his statement differently. I don't think it's out of obligation or a compromise. He was stating a fact. She has seen all the different sides to him including his worst and she accepted all of him. He always assumed the worst about her because of her background and all the misunderstandings. Then she became an exception to all of his rules and now he finally accepted that fact. She matters more to him than NKK and now he is openly admits it.

As for his reaction to her past, it proved exactly how much he cares for her. From the start of the show, he was never shown as a bleeding heart. He knew nothing about her and that was his first introduction to her life. He acknowledged her pain and how she rose above it all while holding himself accountable for his share of her misery.

Be it good or bad they made a choice.
