Not surprised to be honest, I myself along with lot of my friends have turned to watching east Asian shows and movies. Most of them are without a doubt much much better than the repeated bollywood movies.

I agree even me and my few friends are completely into Asian drama. Both Bollywood and TV shows are in dump. There is hardly anything worth watching.

before fighting for who to cast and how much you are spending ..Bollywood needs to invest on stories
until they don't correct that problem ...they will always suck

and please kjo is no visionary ...he is just overrated director ...only popular because of gossip and parties other than that he is nothing

KJo's time as director is over. His narration (candy floss love stories) have a time span. Earlier Subhash Ghai too was hailed great. His stories mostly centred on a macho hero, who starts on wrong path (for reasons out of his reach).
They keep on feeding the same narration. Audience get bored and move on. These directors then try to imitate others and fail miserably. Subhash Ghai tried a commoner hero (which was the trend in late 90s and early 2000) in Pardes and Taal, but failed miserably. Adi tried to reinvent himself with Befikre recently and got his hands burnt. Now KJo is left.

Todays audience want desi stories with desi faces. Hence Badri shines, Bahubali rocks. These people cannot make it. It is beyond their vision.

Bollywood got carried away too much with west that it started looking fake for Desi audience. Hence loosing out audience.

Even though Bahubali is a fantasy story, it is not exactly inspired from west (Harry Potter, Lord of the rings). Telugu movie industry has a history of creating fantasy films for decades, which are rooted in Indian soil (unlike Krrish).
