Acting style similarity of New Gen Bollywood and Hollywood Stars

Why these two because both industry are considered to have wider reach and are in throes of reconstructing itself.

Now here is the fun part that got me started on this road.

I had always considered Ryan Gosling and Ranbir Kapoor to be two peas of same pod. They have similar facial structure, tall lanky frame and affinity towards dark movies. But when it came to their acting style I was stumped. Simply put, they differed. Ryan has this stillness (or thehrav) in him that makes him more of onlooker than participant. While Ranbir is more of a thinker. You can see wheels of his brain turning.

So while it was easy to see who Ryan's counter part was in Bollywood- SSR -who has the same stillness inside him, it took me some time to find out who Ranbir's counterpart is in Hollywood. Joseph Leonard Gordon-Levitt is not a fancy actor but he does justice to every role he has been given and sometime transcends them and the movie. He uses his brain more than his instinct to get his character right. Exactly what Ranbir does while acting.

Chris Pine reminds me of Siddharth (excessive good look while acting style is hit or miss), Chris Pratt of Arjun Kapoor (both are responsible lead who pull the movie),James McAvoy (❤️) and Shahid Kapoor (easy peasy both have benign looks but edgy personality that they bring on screen) , Benedict Cumberbatch and Ranveer Singh (both have huge onscreen personality), Martin Freeman and Ayushman Khurrana (good actors but neutral presence that can get overshadowed), Channing Tatum and ARK (when they let go they both excel) and Varun & Ryan Reynold (style is mix of levity and depth, need seasoning before they could show their acting chops).

I am making use of younger Hollywood and Bollywood. So who is your favorite match of these. If you don't agree, feel free to make your own match. 😊

I don't agree with any of your matches expect Chris Pine-Sid pair somewhat.

One thing I want to say Salman has started looking like Al Pacino off late

all i gathered till now is that ppl say rs=srk sk=vd n ak is probably rk or even ssr.

I have to disagree a little where Chris Pratt is concerned. Chris has an amazing comic timing too which I don't see in Arjun Kapoor. Arjun to me looks like he has just woken from sleep whereas Chris is always fresh and energetic. Chris can also pull off serious roles too just watch him in Moneyball.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt is talented actor I just loved him in the movie The Walk, he really mastered French accent correctly, not many can do it.

RK or SSR are not Aamir who worked towards and sold himself as a brand. The duo are just good actors. They don't have the ability to sell themselves.

RS works on character. He is not effortless actor. He is more of Aamir kind of actor. He is selling himself first as brand and then shows his acting chops.

Varun's style is mix of Govinda and Salman. It could be while growing up he might have seen them a lot on his father's set and got influenced.

RK is nearer to SRK except he is far more clearer in his vision. SRK worked on instinct while RK is thinking actor.

SSR is more like Mithun. Excellent actor but needs to develop style of his own to stay relevant.

cp ji i still think rs is like srk ..he has taken early risks n benefited.
he is also at the risk of over exposing self like srk via IVs n endorsements.

rk n ssr are like amir in the sense that they both have the ability to
choose fresh script n concepts which others hesitates to take up.
yes rk did make a few bad choice.i also feel rk will make a better
director than an actor as he is a thinker.

lastly vd is really lot more like sk bt he has the advantage of
being a better dancer..

Aamir is like Leonardo... he gets into the skin of the character... and always devoid of awards (till the Oscars for Leo)...
