Let me begin by saying, never have I seen a lawyer more useless than Maya's; he could speak up, contradict Saanjh, present proof and stop Miss Mathur when she crossed her limits, but he just sat there, uttering a mere sentence throughout the trial.
Despite Saanjh being right when telling Arjun he is only Maya's husband and all his other relationships have been broken, I believe it was completely unrelated and unnecessary of her to bring it up, as a lawyer, she should just bring out the relevant points, matters directly connected to the case.
I personally loved the one-on-one 'conversation' Maya and Saanjh had, I've always loved these two characters on screen together and as per usual, it was a delight to watch.
There's several things I do not understand though - how does Saanjh know that Arjun was tied up? How does Saanjh know Maya injected Arjun in the ambulance? Is it considered professional behaviour when a lawyer is giving the 'victim' career recommendations, suggesting she may want to take up acting due to her skills?
I quite enjoyed the segment from Maya's imagination when she shot Saanjh, right there amidst court proceedings 😆
Saanjh asks Maya to confess, saying "yeh court toh nahi, lekin shayad aapka bhagwan aapko maaf karde". This ironically reminded me of the scene right before the leap, when Maya took her Ganesha statue and got rid of it, did that symbolically represent that she didn't need God anymore? Was she giving up her faith?
One last thing: Maya spends almost 2 minutes in leaving the witness box, without an explanantion, positions herself before the judge and begins unbuttoning her shirt, all in slow motion for added dramatic effect, and no one questions her? The judge doesn't ask her anything regarding why she just walked away from her initial stance? No one stops her when she slowly undoes each button of her blouse? What even.
