The show grasped my attention since it's first promo. A strong female lead, a fresh story with a pinch of mystery. What was there not to like? I watched the show on YouTube and would take in all the comments addressed to the actors. Some surprised me so much that i couldn't control my laughter.

Some were trying to justify Saanjh and some were all about Jennifer. I guess i failed to understand why. It was incomprehensible to me.

All i saw was a tv series where the lead is the protagonist as well as the antagonist. The lead was strong and capable of twisting the situation according to her will. She had a traumatic childhood leading to her falling in love. You just can't say, if she's good or bad. It's just like Breaking Bad. You love Walter White but at the same time detest him.

Then there was Saanjh. Another bubbly girl in love with her childhood friend. Being in the same shoes as her once upon a time, i couldn't exactly blame her for her actions sometimes.

But after all the watching and understanding, all i could gather was two innocent people being in love with the same person. I didn't see the writers trying to make anyone the protagonist. Nobody in real life are protagonist unless it's their's story. The writer's didn't try to make it a romantic thriller nor are they trying to show that's Maya is a mental patient and she needs saving. She went through psychological injury for sure, and she's broken. But she isn't mental. She's ripped apart and she needed someone to gather the pieces and make her whole again.

This show was trying to bring spice into the world of ordinary. The indian tv series has taken a turn for the drastic showing a household with poor little girls who needs saving surrounded by vultures which by the way i have never happen in reality.

I absolutely love the show. Strong female leads is what i needed. What this society needed. I don't watch for Arjun to love Maya back or him to fall for Saanjh. I don't want it to turn into a romance like the other bland shows. I want it to stand out. Always.

PS. Is it just me or anybody here hates Arjun too? He slapped a girl. Now, I'm all about equality. I wouldn't stand a girl slapping a guy and at the same time i wouldn't stand a guy slapping a girl.

PPS. These episodes these days are just funny! The judge, the way it's presented.. I have to say, "Writer, did you never really see a court room drama before?"

PPPS. This is my first post in this forum so everybody Hello! This was a long post for sure, but i guess I'm just bored. My name is Mandira which my mum named me after her and dad.

Beautiful name Mandira😊 welcome to the forum! Despite all the fan wars, we all kinda like the show for our own reasons.. I only and only look forward to good performances..in that sense I can say I liked the performance of the prosecution lawyer today.. lol he was crisp and to the point..Also, Jennifer as Maya is quite something even though Maya can be a real freak.. Personally I am not watching this show for any love story or romance.. so that's my stand on Arjun Maya.. But I am looking forward to Samay's role in the future episodes..also I heard that Simone Singh will be entering the show soon..looking forward to that too..

Agreed. No need to compare Maya and Saanjh. Or say nasty things about one or the other. Watch the show, enjoy it and discuss it without the name calling and comparing both of them all of the time.

I'm watching the show to see just how many limits Maya can cross. What is she capable of doing? What is her truth? To see her downfall and maybe her redemption. And of course to see what's the deal with Samay.

Hello Mandira, I am Zin (or PlainJane is also fine),

This is such a cool post you have made. The thoughts so very balanced and well-put.

@bold: I don't exactly hate Arjun. I find his spinelessness irksome. I hate how fickle he is. I would rather he just left Maya...to hell with the consequences. I don't think its fair to compare Saanj with Maya. Because clearly they have very different personalities. However, I hate Saanj because personally her character traits irritate me. As for Maya, I love to hate her. And Samay...I just love him. He seems as manipulative as Maya. I hope he shows some villainous/anti-hero traits. Makes me believe that he is Maya's match. As of now, I couldn't care less about any of the other characters because they are bland IMO.

I am glad that you enjoy the show. My feelings are a little mixed. I love the show sometimes. I hate it sometimes. I feel strongly about the show however and I find certain characters (Maya and Samay) very fascinating despite their monstrosities (or maybe because of them). I also love talking about the show.
