You know the drill. Here's the thread for today. If you refresh occasionally like you do for written update, you might be able to read as I update. I will start updating as the episode gets uploaded. You guys can continue your discussion. I will update as I go and change the title with EDITED when completed!!!

Fathering a child is the easiest task under the sun. All it takes is a willing woman and any man - human or animal can produce an offspring. Even scums like Vicky can produce a son.

But being a father is the toughest job under the sun. For that, you don't need biology. You just need to be there for someone everytime they fall.

You have to nurture, protect, guide, defend and instill values, ethics and good morale so that in future that person can stand as an example to someone else.

There are fathers who wash off their hands from their children, there are fathers who forget their daughter once they get married, there are fathers who sacrifice their daughter in the name of tradition, society and community.

And there are fathers who exceed biology and become dad, who become the standard their daughters want their life partner to match, who protect their children from all outside threats. They are called names by people who think that father of a daughter should practice to lower their heads the day their daughters are born. But I will salute those fathers. Because if every woman get fathers like these, we probably won't hear any stories of heartbreak from women because no one would dare hurt their daughters.

I had been asked many times why I defend Bijoy so fiercely? Because he is a father who is best friend to the person who makes his child happy and worst enemy to the man who brings tears to her eyes. How could I not admire that person?

Dev never had a father. He could have had Bijoy. But Ishwari spread her toxin in every aspect of his life.

EPISODE: The episode starts with Saurabh's haldi where the pandit chanting mantras.

Golu asks: Who marries a fish?

Dev answers: No, Golu. He is not marrying a fish. This is a Bengali tradition.

Me: Golu is adorable. I could just squeeze his cheeks.

Dida first comes for Haldi ceremony.

Panditji indicates a saree: Be careful. This is the wedding saree. Make sure no one steps on it.

Golu is getting restless. Poor thing. He wants to play.

Dev tells him to go and start. He will come later. But not to make noise since Suhana is sleeping. She is not feeling well.

Golu goes away.

Ceremony starts.

Golu makes noise upstairs.

Bijoy shouts at him to keep quiet.

Asha shushes him: He is a child. He will make noise.

They all take turns in putting haldi.

Golu's ball falls on the haldi bowl and haldi splashes on wedding saree.

Bijoy gets furious.

Bijoy shouts: Golu.

Golu comes down.

Bijoy: What have you done? You have messed everything up. Is this a place to play cricket? Who gave you this idea?

Dev intervenes: Mr. Bose, the child made a mistake.

Bijoy still angry: Don't teach me how to handle a child. You should have took care of a child. But you said him to go play. You should have made him understand that there is a function going on in the house.

Asha tells Bijoy: Bijoy, please control. Everyone is listening.

Dev tells Asha: No, it's okay, aunty. I should have gone with him. Because if I had threw the ball, my aim would have been somewhere else.

Sona and Asha both get shocked.

Me: Bijoy made a valid point. As a child, had I made a mess in my house, and due to my mischief a function had got spoiled, I was scolded by my elders the same way. My grandmother of the belief of scolding the responsible adults for children's mischief. So she'd have scolded my parents for being irresponsible. She didn't and still doesn't discriminate between the genders of the parents. Both father and mother are equally held responsible for their child's mischief.

So Bijoy's reaction was justified today. Had the haldi splashed on Radha's outfit, she would have screamed louder. The only difference is that Dev won't have said then that he would have aimed elsewhere.

Bijoy should have asked Golu to play outside and ask Dev and Elena to take him out instead of asking him to tone down the noise.

Golu is a child and a child will get into trouble without adult supervision. And in this case, both his mother and BigCha just let him go and do whatever. I must say, both are very irresponsible guardian who have absolutely no idea how to manage kids.

Bijoy turns to Asha: Did you hear what he said?

Asha: Bijoy please calm down. Today is Saurabh's haldi function.

Bijoy: No Asha. You won't tell me to calm down today. He wants no function in our house happen peacefully. He didn't get his wish fulfilled by stealing, then...

Dev stops Bijoy: Mr. Bose, enough. You are crossing your limit.

Bijoy: I am crossing my limit and that you crossed all limits, what about that? That's what you will teach Soha? You can never be a good father.

Dev: Just because I am not saying anything it doesn't mean you will say whatever you want. Saurabh's function is going on that's why I am silent, or?

Bijoy: Or? Did you see Asha how he is talking? I told you before that if he talks like that, then either he will stay in this house or I will.

Dev: Okay I will book a taxi for you.

Bijoy pointing at Dev: See? See? how he is talking?

Asha: Enough. That's too much.

She grabs their hands: Let's go.

Bijoy: Where are you talking me?

Dev is also shocked.

But Asha drags them to a room and lock them up.

Me: As much as I am going to enjoy the upcoming track, I'd like to point out that Bijoy's attitude is predictable considering the lies he had been told or for that matter the truth he had not been told. And for today's incident, Asha and Dev are responsible.

They hid truth from Bijoy so no wonder he is behaving the way he is. Who can tolerate knowing that they are harbouring a thief under their roof?

Dev wanted to be Martyr by doing Mahaan deed. He said that he will tolerate Bijoy's hate since he hates him anyway. Insulting someone because they accused you of the crime you yourself admitted of committing doesn't call tolerance, it's called arrogance. Look up the meaning in the dictionary, Bhaiya.

Bijoy asks what does Asha wants to do?

Asha says: Enough Bijoy. I said before that I don't want any drama in this house. But you two are continuing your nonsense. Today again you two created drama in front of our guests. Now until you sort out your issues, this door won't open.

Bijoy: What?

Dev: But aunty please.

Asha: Shut up. You are not listening to what I said? The faster you sort out your differences the better for you. Otherwise you will miss all the functions of Saurabh's wedding.

Bijoy: Asha?

Asha: Bye...

She leaves.

Bijoy is still calling her name.

Me: This is your chance Bijoy. Say whatever you want. No one can stop you from speaking your grievances. What a brilliant idea. Someone should have done this to you two on the first day Dev arrived with bad attitude.

Asha comes down. Everyone is staring at her.

Asha in a calm voice: What? Why are you looking at me like that? Did all of you do the ritual?

Sonakshi asks: Maa, where is Dev and Baba?

Asha: Where they should be. I have locked the big, rude kids in a room. That's the punishment for rudeness. Go put haldi.

Saurabh smiles a little.

Me: Dada, aaj to aapka dil garden garden ho gaya hoga. Kya kamaal ka shaadi ka gift mila hain. 😃

Upstairs Dev is banging on the door and Bijoy is pouting in a corner.

Dev: Someone open the door. How will I stay with this... (looks at Bijoy)

Bijoy looks back at him: I am also not going to get a Padmasree for being stuck with you. Should I give you a free advice? I know my wife very well. She won't open the door. She is very stubborn.

Dev: Thank God in this home some one is stubborn for the right reason.

Bijoy ignores him. He sees something and goes towards the window.

Downstairs, peace reigns. Sona goes to put haldi on Saurabh.

He whispers: Don't mess with Maa. Look both got locked upstairs.

Sona takes a huge slob of haldi and smiles big.

Saurabh: This is haldi, not holi.

She smears Haldi all over Saurabh.

Saurabh protests but everyone smiles.

Me: That was such a cute scene. Reminds me when my cousins and I used to warn each other about the atmosphere of the elders so that they could become cautious.

However, Elena is all smiles here. Where is Golu? Honestly who got this girl married? Utterly useless mother. But then, she didn't sign up for motherhood. So I guess it makes sense. Golu, poor thing is stuck with neglecting parents.

Anyhoo, Bijoy looks down from the window and may be thinking of jumping.

Dev pats his back: Shall I give you a free advice? If you are planning to go to your son's wedding through here, you will reach there broken.

Bijoy retorts back: If that's the case then you should definitely try to leave this way. A lot of issues will get solved.

Me: I swear, Bijoy's sense of humour is always on point. Bhaiya was right. Pappa must have been planning his murder for a long time. 🤣

Downstairs, Asha gives the wedding saree to Gunni to take to the dry cleaners.

Jatin asks Asha: Can I help you?

Asha smiles: If I need help, I will tell you first.

Jatin asks: Did your temper get down?

Asha smiles.

She asks Sona to call caterers and arrange for food.

Me: Such a normal shaadi ka ghar. Except, upstairs is right now Tihar Jail.

Upstairs Bijoy is fuming: Because of you Asha has locked me here and everyone is enjoying downstairs.

Dev: Look bro, the thing is that you are locked here. That's why everyone is enjoying there.

Bijoy: Look, you don't try to be over smart. I am missing my son's function and it's all because of you. If you weren't here, this won't have happened.

Dev: Even I didn't want to be here. It's better I go stay in a mental asylum. At least there people don't act like they are normal.

Me: Oh okay. Bhaiya is missing home so badly. Must be desperate to go back to mental asylum. True, in his home, no one acts like they are normal since their definition of normal doesn't match the rest of the world.

Dev comes to Bijoy: This is only for a few days more. Then I will leave from here with my daughter.

Bijoy is taken aback.

Me: Ouch!!! Poor Bijoy. His heart must be hurting real bad now.

The guests leave from their home.

Sona tells Asha to open the door.

Asha: Absolutely not. They don't listen straight talk.

Sona: They haven't ate anything for three hours. No sound is coming from inside. I am getting worried.

Asha (sternly): Sona, if you continue to insist, I will also lock you in there. That's what I have to do with you guys now.

Sona: Is there any advantage to it?

Asha: I don't know about advantage. But I am tired of this everyday drama. You have turned my home into daily soap. You guys say anything to get your temper down and I have to listen to it everyday. The fact is that you guys don't have tolerance level. I keep running after you, Calm down, calm down. Do I not get angry? That's why they will remain locked in that room until they sort themselves out. And if anyone tries to talk to them, they will also be locked in the room with them. Clear?

Me: You know, Asha? After a long time you said something smart. You talked about level of tolerance. So this last few days tested your tolerance to the level that you had to lock Dev and Bijoy in one room.

But guess what? Your daughter tolerated worse than this day after day and she didn't have option to lock her tormentors in a room. So please, don't include your daughter in the tolerance comment. What she has tolerated, it's quite evident, even after years of maturity, you are not capable of tolerating. So this lectures you keep on giving her comparing your life to her, should be stopped until you prove that you can tolerate what your daughter had for as long as she did.

Elena and Golu come home. Golu is upset.

Radha asks what happened. Elena sends Golu to his room and tries to give excuse that he fell and that's why he cried.

Radha says: Golu doesn't cry if he falls down. May be the Bose family pushed him.

Elena gets disgusted and leaves.

Radha then brings Golu ice cream and tries to brainwash him against Dev.

Golu this time doesn't protest.

Me: I had been saying that this is what's going to happen. If Golu starts to perceive Soha as threat like Ishwari perceived Sona, Dev will be again on the balancing rope and this time there won't be any obvious choice like mother vs. wife.

At Bose house, Bijoy is lamenting that the whole day got wasted. Then he remembers that he has drinks in the wardrobe.

He happily opens the wardrobe: It's good Asha locked us in this room. (Looks into the wardrobe) Where is it? (He finds his 18 year old scotch) Yes.

Me: Bijoy uncle scotch bhi adult peete hain. Underage scotch is no good. 😆

Dev looks at Bijoy holding the bottle like a kid without any toy looks at another kid with shiny red ball in the playground hoping he will ask him to play too.

Bijoy goes to the dresser when Dev snatches the alcohol bottle from him.

Bijoy: What are you doing to my 18 years old scotch? It will break.

Dev takes off the cap and puts the bottle and cap down: Mr. Bose, you have such a luck, no? You are drinking such a good scotch, but with whom? With someone whom you hate the most.

Bijoy ignores him and pours the scotch in the cap of the bottle which is tiny.

Dev: Now that you have opened the bottle, then why are you making such tiny pegs?

Bijoy: Don't try to teach me how to drink my scotch. When I was young...

Dev: You used to make excuses like this. (Grabs the bottle) Alcohol should be drunk like alcohol bottle thinks that someone is drinking her (gulps down quarter bottle raw)...

Bijoy is staring at him stunned.

Dev: It's okay. You won't be able to do it. You make your little pegs.

Me: You know that kind of looks like how I ask to "taste" someone else's dessert and then take a huge chunk to get the complete experience. I am bad too, I know. But sorry, food is my weakness.

Bijoy drops his bottle cap and gulps down another quarter bottle.

Me: Jesus christ!!! Bedva convention chalu.

Bijoy baba and Bhaiya are drunk.

Bijoy: I only had one support. You even finished it. You ended everything Dev Dixit.

Dev (crying voice): I am sorry, Mr. Bose. The fault is mine. Now what will we do? We only had one reason to tolerate each other. I finished that too.

They are talking about the 18 year old scotch. Empty bottle ludkaoing around like third bedva.

They start laughing at each other and tries to hi-five but both miss.

Then shush each other.

Bijoy: Soha is sleeping.

Dev: Yes.

Bijoy: The matter is serious. What should we do?

Dev gives the idea to play truth or dare with the empty bottle.

The bottle stops at Bijoy. Dev asks him to choose.

Bijoy: I always speak the truth.

Dev asks: Why do you hate me?

Bijoy: Because I am Sona's father. Daughters are like that. Parents keep teaching them that they are not less than anybody. You and Saurabh are equal. But I used to lie. I always loved Sona more, worried about her more. When she grew up, she fell in love with you, Dev Dixit. My daughter left us and went with you. You broke her heart, you made her cry. When a father's daughter cry, the father falls in his own eyes.

Dev wipes his tears.

Bijoy is also crying: I could not wipe my daughter's tears. I could not protect my daughter. I could not save her from you. Do you understand?

Dev nods.

Bijoy: I love my daughter. I love her as much as I hate you. Dev Dixit, I hate you, I hate you, I hate you.

Dev: I understand you Miss Bose. (Corrects himself. Freudian slip?) Mr. Bose, I am sorry.

Me: My heart just broke for Bijoy. I have been saying this such a long time that Bijoy is a great father. The only thing he hated Dev for was Sona's tears. He would have forgiven everything else. May be now, people will understand the pain of a daughter's father. Because it seems sometimes people can't see past a pre-confirmed hero to a man who had been hero to his daughter for so many years and always will be.

Bijoy laughs: Now my turn.

Dev continues: Sometimes I think that we are like bottles. Empty and spinning in one place. We are still stuck in the past.

Bijoy laughs: As if you forgot everything.

Dev: Of course, I forgot everything. I forgot everything that's why I came here to make a fresh start. But you Mr. Bose, didn't forget anything.

Anyways, Dev dares Bijoy to stop hating him. Bijoy is pouting.

Dev says: I knew you won't do this. I just wanted you to forgive me for the past. But I know you won't do this because then whom will you blame?

Me: Bhaiya, uski fikar aap mat karo. Aapke family bahut saare log hain blame karne ke liye starting from your sar pe pahad giranewali maata jo pahad se slide karke wapas aa rahee hain. Yamraj ka rejected maal hain, to Maata ne bhi return kar diya hoga.

Bijoy: Then you are saying there is no solution to this?

Dev: Correct. Finally we agree on something. Even though you understand me, you don't want to understand me.

Bijoy: You won't understand anything now, Dev Dixit. Your daughter is a child now, no? But when your daughter will grow up, she will also fall in love with someone (Bhaiya's expression goes from ah-hah, gotcha to oh-no in less than a second). She will also one day leave you. What will you do when you come to know that the man your daughter loves is like Dev Dixit?

Me: Bhaiya's expression says it all just how much he is hating the idea of his daughter getting a man like him as a life partner. Jo aaj tak hum kehte the, aaj sharab ne samjha diya. Sharab jab andar jaati hain, sach hamesha bahaar aati hain.

They both point at the empty bottle and shout: What rubbish game is this?

Dev then turns to Bijoy and asks: Would you answer a question without turning the bottle?

Bijoy magnanimously says: Whatever you want to ask, ask.

Dev: You always say that I won't be able to be a good father. But who is perfect? You are a husband and father for such a long time. Are you perfect? Didn't anyone have any complaint for you? Didn't Asha have any complaint for you?

Bijoy: What are you saying? Are you insulting me?

Dev: No no. Not insulting you Mr. Bose. Don't get angry. I am just asking.

Bijoy: After drinking everyone talks big. But find a solution to get out of here.

Dev: There is a way. But you will have to lie for it.

Bijoy: Bijoy Bose never lies.

Dev repeats with him, but says, I know. If you want to get out, then you will have to lie.

Bijoy: What do you mean?

Dev: You can't forgive me. You can't forget the past. We know. But if we can convince our family that our problems are sorted with scotch and now we are friends, then? Come on, Mr. Bose. It's only for two days. What's the big deal. You will have to be nice to me and I will have to be nice to you. I will call you uncle and you won't call me Dev Dixit in sarcastic tone. We just have to pretend in front of everyone. We love them so much, we can do this for them. Right? Deal, Mr. Bose?

Bijoy: Okay, then it's a deal.

They slap hands and shake on it.

Me: Bhai wah. Kitni jaldi problem solve ho gaya.

So the equation is Bhaiya - Issue Maata + Alcohol = Season 1 adorable Dev Dixit.

Bhaiya + Issue Maata + Alcohol = Season 1 truth speaking, with spine Dev Dixit.

Bhaiya + Issue Maata - Alcohol = Season 1 + 2 spineless jerk.

Bhaiya - Issue Maata - alcohol = Still jerk, but not to everyone, and in lower degree.

Bijoy: But you don't know my family, they are very smart.

Dev: I will make a plan where we don't have to say anything.

Bijoy gets excited on that.

Here, Saurabh is sleeping and Asha comes to wake him up.

They hear loud music playing.

They go looking for sound. Sona bumps into them. Saurabh guesses that it's coming from the closed room.

They come into the room to see Bhaiya and Baba are doing Nach Baliye (Season yaad nehin. Agla wala samajhke padlo).

Sona, Asha and Saurabh are shocked. Dev drags Saurabh in. Asha and Sona's eyes are still like Roshogolla.

Bijoy drags Asha.

Sona looks around and finds empty bottle of scotch. Asha looks at Sona. She shows her the bottle. Asha is shocked.

She calls Bijoy's name when suddenly Bijoy starts to have chest pain and falls down.

Me: That means that they were locked in the room all night - without food and water. Are you serious, Asha? You didn't once gave them anything to eat or drink? You didn't know that they had scotch, but you knew that they didn't have anything in the room. You didn't lock them in the kitchen. When Sonakshi pointed it out to you three hours later, you shut her up.

Anyone still wants to call Asha sensible? In fact, I find her more arrogant than Sonakshi. She assumes that she knows what Sonakshi went through, she hides a big truth from her husband but expects him to be completely normal with someone he hates, she expects to be obeyed when she commands and she locks her husband and Soha's dad in a room without food and water all night to teach them a lesson because their fights are bothering her.

Yet, she is sensible.

Great. Had this been done by Sona? Today she will have her funeral here. Because unlike Asha, she doesn't butter up Dev. But also unlike Asha, she doesn't lock people in a room without food and water whole night either.

PRECAP: Bijoy is taken to a hospital. The doctor says that his blood pressure has increased. He is not out of danger yet.

Dev says sorry to Sonakshi. Sonakshi says: There is no need to say sorry. If something happens to Baba, I will never forgive you. And as far as I know about Soha. She won't forgive you either.

Me: Sonakshi, that's the wrong person you are accusing. Because here's the list of people you should be accusing.

1. You - Your father was stressed out since Dev arrived. But he might have arrived suddenly but he didn't arrive uninvited. You know that your father hates him, yet you didn't think it's necessary to consult with him before extending the invitation.

2. Your mother - She is even more to blame. Who knows a man more than his wife? She knew her husband was stressed out because of Dev. Then she hid the truth and still kept on behaving as if Dev had claimed to have eaten an extra pakoda. Your behaviour didn't match what he was told by Dev. He kept getting stressed out worrying about you all, but no one, least of all your mother once asked him what is he feeling or bothered to share the truth with him. But then, she is a great woman. So we should all learn from her how to lock one's husband in a room and forget to provide food or water. Now since she is a woman, we will forgive her.

Had Bijoy done it to her, we'd call it domestic abuse.

I am a feminist. So I don't judge two people differently. I will call out Asha for the same reason, I will call out Bijoy for.

And today, Sonakshi, you and your mother was responsible, not Dev. Because he is no one to him. But he is supposed to be someone you two claim to love.

Rules:

1. No real people bashing, reel characters are fair game. However, please be prepared to defend your points should someone provide a counterargument. We believe in healthy discussion. i know bijoy is punching bag of this forum but his words came from heart. dev easily said he have forgetten everything but a father cant forget d pain caused to his kid n he never forgives d one who caused it. for bijoy dev is ultimate one who broke her daughters heart to pieces.
he told he loved sona and care sona more than any1// then she felt in love with u n she went to ur house but u made her cry... n when a daughter cries father feels ashamed... i wasn't able to help my daughter n wasn't able to protect her from all d pain caused

bijoy is a great father. he might be hyper but he has his own reason n he scolded golu but kids need to be disciplined as well. u just cant let kids ruin everything😳

Mission accomplished. Message conveyed.
No one is perfect. Everyone has flaws. No need to to stay stuck in the past.

Now, finally no one would be against Dev.

And from the looks of precap, bachi khuchi kasar bhi poori ho jayegi.

Actually I read today's update and specially pre-cap, and I am surprised to see that the parallels, although not in an exact replicated situation, but are being drawn in a subtle manner quite a few times now.

1. Sona-Soha sleeping peacefully vs. Dev's pacing fast impatiently losing his sleep reminded me of Dev-Ish enjoying partying on Dev's bday and Sona's lone moment in a restaurant.

2. The whole shifting to Bose house drama, the whole feeling of being an outsider to an already 'perfectly' functioning family (as Dixits thought they were perfect too).

3. Soha's casually spending more time with Jatin simply because that was how it used to be for last 6 yrs for her vs. Dev's spending ALL his time with his Momma and office leaving his wife alone to rot there. Except, this time Soha is a child and cannot be blamed for it !

4. Bijoy hospitalized. Sona's accusing Dev whereas the reality was Bijoy consumed alcohol with consent. Soha this time might feel reluctant to give Dev a clean chit too I feel. And that's how may be THIS situation would be acted as Karma. Dev should realize how it feels to accuse and break-up relation with somebody without any particular fault of his. Will Soha give it back to Dev this time ? 😳

Looking forward to your update Tia.

Today's episode had a lot of good points but I wish bejoy and dev had this conversation when they were not drunk. That moment when bejoy asked dev wether he would let his daughter marry someone like dev dixit was an awesome scene. One of the best confrontations of two male characters in Indian television history. And I thought I will never say this but I liked GKB today. She genuinely loves her own blood. She was absolutely correct in her assessment of dev. Looking forward to your review tia.
And I have to add one more thing I liked Devs character today just because he uttered the one word sorry like he meant it. Doesn't mean that I am ok with the redemption part yet. But it's a good start. I think that today for the first time dev saw what sona and her family went through not the whole picture but at least a part of it.
And darling Asha at last managed to gift her not so perfect husband health problems due to high pressure
By putting him in a room with the person he despises the most.
Editing once more because when I said I liked the way dev said sorry I was solely indicating towards the precap. And now that I think about it I hope the scene plays out well and they don't again spoil it somehow

Funny is when the criminal or the wrong-doer decides that let's forget and forgive 😆. It somehow reminds me of the climax of the movie Te3n, and if I am not wrong, Sabyasachi's character brings a similar deal to Amitabh that 'See I did this for this blah blah, I know I wronged you, but let's forget and forgive and start afresh'. Even Ishwari said something similar along the lines 'Since I apologized, I GOTTA be forgiven' 🤣. This delusional maa-beta. 🤪

The reality is it's not the decision of the wrong-doer to decide whether he should be given a chance to erase his past mistakes and start writing a new book or not. The jury gives the verdict based on the impact of the actions done to the victim 😆. In fact it's the victims decision to withdraw a complain, but definitely not the criminal's. 😆
