Madhuri is said to be one of the first female superstars. Katrina was said to have great box office success too. But who was the bigger female superstar at their peak - Madhuri Dixit or Katrina Kaif?

Madhuri. Katrina could never have made a film like Raja a massive hit. I think it was a blockbuster.

Madhuri became a part of the culture.. Everyone use to sing "Dhak Dhak" and "Ek do teen." I dont think Katrina had that effect. Madhuri was def more applauded for her acting abilities too. Let me be clear. I never thought much of Mahuri as an actress. She is def better than Kat. But I would still rank her as an average actress and not great one. Sridevi was a great actress in my book. But she was a bigger star in her prime than Kat. But her stardom faded away and she wasnt able to maintain it. She does reality tv now. Meanwhile Aish, and Kajol still do films?😕Interesting scenario !

^^You are right about Madhuri becoming a part of popular culture.

Reminds me of the popular Govinda song "Madhuri Dixit mili raste mein, khaye chane humne saste mein." 😆

And the film Main Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hoon.

By the way, her career started way before the careers of Kajol and Aish.

Madhuri was a generation ahead of Aish and Kajol in the industry..her contemporaries were the likes of meenakshi sheshadri, Shilpa Shirodkar, Kimi Katkar etc. Where r they now?

Kajol , Aish were among the likes of karisma, Raveena, etc..So make comparisons with them and it is fair.

Sridevi is a great actress..So is Madhuri..both were superstars and worked with the likes of Mithun, Amitabh, Vinod khana, Anil kapoor to SRK ,Aamir,Salman..across age groups..that too as their heroines..Not n easy feat in Bollywood

Their stardom is unmatched..Deepika surely came close to it

Inorder to be called a complete superstar u also need to command respect for ur acting abilities.Madhuri was highly ranked by her costars,critics,directors and actors who came after her.Her fame is timeless.Won numerous awards and has essayed characters which would live in ppl memory forever

Kat was never honored for her acting abilities.She might have got comments like achchi maal hai but never the achchi actress after ppl come out of theater😆.She had a hit streak for 2-3 years but her fame will be short lived.In future too,she would be known for her dance rather than legendary roles/movies

ofcourse madhuri.madhuri was the only felmale superstar in the bollywood.madhuri is the great actress.dont think sridevi is better than her.sridevi is overrated.madhuri was great in acting even in tezaab.
