Chapter Seven

Sona moved away from Dev as soon as Ishwari went away...she was feeling ashamed of her behavior, but Dev was enjoying her dilemma..."arrey wah Sona...acting to bohot acchi kar leti ho tum...maa ko to shak tak nahin hua ki yeh sab kuch main karwa raha hoon tumse...thank you so much ki tumne mujhe apni maa ke nazroan mein bura banne se bacha liya...waise kaafi practice lagti hogi na itni perfect actor banne keliye...ofcourse main bhi kaise sawaal pooch raha hoon tumse...itne saaloan se tum yahi to karti aayi ho...ek acchi dost banne ki acting...jab ki tumhare dil mein mere liye to koi aur hi feelings thi hai na???????? "...Sona starred at him angrily...this time not even the slightest fear in her eyes.

"OMG...itna gussa...please Sona, please aise mat dekho meri taraf...mujhe bohot darr lag raha hai...please ..."...Dev mocked her anger as she continued glaring at him..."ghoor ghoor ke kya dekh rahi ho mujhe?...yeh innocent victim hone ka naatak na mere saamne karna band karo tum... Sona was about to move to the washroom to freshen up as Dev held her back forcefully, his fingers making a dent in her arms..."kal to bheegi billi bani hui thi mere saamne...aaj achanakse jabaan kaise chalne lagi tumhari...lagta hai tum bhool gayi ho ki mujhe gussa dilane ka anjaam kya ho sakta hai...kaho to phir se yaad dila doon?"...Sona very calmly loosened herself from his hold without breaking their eye contact..."mujhe saari baatein acche se yaad hai ki aap kya kya kar sakte hain mere parivaar ke saath...bas yeh baat hai ki ek hi baat baar baar sunkar na ab mujhe iss sab ki aadat si hogayi hai...kal main bheegi billi bani isiliye khadi thi kyunki yeh sab kuch mere liye naya tha...par aaj aisa lagta hai ki sadiyon se yeh baatein sunti aayi hoon...kehte hai na ki ek hi cheez ka darr baar baar dikhane se woh darr khatam ho jaata hai...mere saath bhi kuch aisa hi hua hai..."...saying so she picked up a salwar from her bag which she had carried while going to the court and moved into the washroom to freshen up...Dev was left behind defeated as he thought of ways to tame his wild cat who had dared to draw claws at him.

Soon Dev and Sona came down for breakfast...Sona took the blessings of her elders...Ishwari ignored her royally while Dev was keenly observing every move of hers...as Dev got up to leave for his office, he was stopped in his tracks by Sona's voice..."office jaa rahe ho baby...mujhe bye bhi nahin bola...apni wife ke saath koi aisa karta hai kya?...ek to shaadi ke agle hi din mere mana karne ke bawajood aap office jaa rahe ho...upar se mujhe bina bye bole...not fair"...Sona walked upto him and hugged him tightly much to his surprise and discomfort..."I'll miss you...miss me too...shaam ko jaldi aana..."...she kissed him in his cheek as Dev's eyes widened at her gesture..."smile kijiye...agar aise badi badi ankhoan se mujhe dekhte rahenge to aapke gharwaloan ko shak ho jayega ki hum naatak kar rahe hai...aur yeh sab aap bhi chahte the na...ki hum gharwaloan ke saamne normal husband wife jaise behave kare...to I'm sure shaadi ke ek din baad saare normal couples aise hi behave karte honge..."...Sona whispered to Dev as he forced a smile on his face.

"waise agar aap office jaa hi rahe ho to mujhe bhi college drop kar dena...mere project submission ka last day hai aaj...aap 5 minute rukiye main apna bag leke aati hoon..."...Sona just wanted to escape from the piercing eyes of Dev's family members as she was sure if she stayed back all alone here they would ask her all different sort of questions..."kahin jaane ki jaroorat nahin hai...kal hi shaadi karke iss ghar mein aayi ho aur aaj college jaana hai...jab shaadi ki thi mere bete se bhaagkar to yeh khayaal nahin aaya tumhe ki abhi tak tumne apni padhai bhi poori nahin ki hai..."...Ishwari summoned Sona as Dev answered her back this time..."maa humari shaadi ka Sona ke college se koi lena dena nahin hai...koi use apni padhai poori karni se nahi rokega...Sona main tumhara bahar wait kar raha hoon...jaldi aana mujhe der ho rahi hai"...Sona nodded and left to take her belongings as Ishwari looked on betrayed.

Dev dropped Sona to college as she thanked him for supporting her infront of his mother...she got down from her car and was about leave when Dev called her back this time..."yeh kya sweetheart...jaate jaate apne pati ko bye bhi nahin bologi... apne ek din poorane pati ke saath koi aisa karta hai kya?...ek to shaadi ke agle hi din mera mann na hone ke bawajood tum mujhe office jaane ke liye keh rahi ho...upar se mujhe bye bhi nahi bola...not fair."...he pulled Sona into his bear hug and kissed her on her cheek just as she had done to him a while ago...Sona looked around as her college-mates were busy starring at the lovey-dovey couple, some were busy mocking them for their PDA while others were talking about how Sona had trapped the most eligible bachelor in town to get herself a secured future.

"jab kisi parinde ke paro mein udne ki taakat na ho na to poora aasman naapne ki chah rakhna bewakoofi hoti hai...tumhara bhi yehi haal hai...tumne jo mere saath kiya kuch der pehle woh ghar ki chaar deewari ke andar kiya...jo sirf mere gharwaloan ne dekha...par ab jo tumhare saath maine kiya woh khule aam sabke saamne kiya hai...ab socho ki jab poora college tumhare baare mein tarah tarah ki baatein karega, tumhe chidhayega to kitna mazaa ayega...agli baar mujhse bina pooche mere gharwalon ke saamne aise harkat karne ki sochna bhi mat...warna iss baar sirf gaal pe kiss kiya hai sabke saamne...agli baar..."...Dev dangerously eyed her lips as Sona shrunk her face in dislike.

Releasing her from his hold Dev blew a flying kiss to her as he drove back to his office...Sona had a tough time avoiding questioning gazes of her college-mates and ignoring their rubbish talks about her married life, about how she and her husband didn't give a damn before openly romancing each other ignoring one and all around...she quickly submitted her project and made a dash home to avoid any further embarrassment...on reaching home she was relieved that nobody was present downstairs...she quickly ran up to her room and closed the door, confining herself to the 4 walls of her bedroom...no sorry Dev's bedroom, introspecting about what her life had been a week ago and now what a disaster it had turned out to be...sleep engulfed her as she also forgot that she had not had her lunch...seemed like the feeling of hunger had also ditched her just like her bestie.

Meanwhile Dev reached Bose house after winding up his office to collect Sona's belongings from there as well as instigate Bijoy a little more against his daughter..."mumma-papa kaise hai aap dono...main jaanta hoon ki aap log shayad mujhse bohot naraaj ho...meri shakal bhi nahi dekhan chahoge...par believe me papa jo kuch bhi hua usmein mera koi swarth nahin hai...yeh sab to maine sirf Sona ki khushi keliye kiya hai"...Dev made an innocent face as Bijoy got curious to know about the entire incident..."tum kehna kya chahte ho Dev?...saaf saaf bolo...Sona ki khushi keliye yeh sab kiya matlab?".

"baba aap to jaante hai ki meri shaadi Natasha se tay hui thi...saari tayyariyan ho chuki thi...sab kuch theek chal raha tha par achanak ek din aa kar Sona ne mujhe bataya ki woh mujhse pyaar karti hai aur mujhe kisi aur ka hota nahin dekh sakti...maine use samjhaya...har tareeke se manane ki koshish ki ...par woh kuch sunne keliye tayyar hi nahin thi...jab maine yeh sab aapko batane ki baat ki to usne mujhe jaan dene ki dhamki de di...main darr gaya tha papa...woh meri bachpan ki dost hai...use kuch ho jaata to main khudko kabhi maaf nahin kar paata...meri khushi uski jindagi se badhkar nahin hai...isiliye maine Natasha se apna rishta tod diya...aapko yaad hai uss din main use milne aaya tha...main use yehi yakeen dilane aaya tha ki Natasha aur mere beech ab kuch bhi nahin hai aur who apni jidd chod de...par usne mujhse shaadi karne ki jidd karli...use darr tha ki kahin Natasha dubara meri jindagi mein na aajaye...maine kahan bhi tha usse ki hum sabhi ke saamne shaadi karenge...aap sabki ijazat lekar...par use yeh darr tha ki kahin aap iss rishte keliye mana kar denge to uska mujhse shaadi karne ka sapna bass sapna hi bankar reh jayega...isiliye humne bhaag ke shaadi ki..."...Dev concluded as he was internally feeling victorious at Bijoy's sullen expression...the anger and hatred he had started developing for his daughter was quite visible on his face.

Seeing his fury Dev yet again continued..."papa, main yeh sab aapko isliye nahin bata raha hoon kyunki main aapko bhadkana chahta hoon aapki apni beti ke khilaaf...main bass yeh chahta hoon ki aapke dil mein mere liye koi galat baatb na ho...aap mereliye humesha se bohot special hai papa...aur main nahin chahta ki kisi bhi wajah se hum dono ka rishta kharab ho...Sona ne jo kiya woh uska bachpana hai...abhi choti hai woh...dheere dheere use apni galti ka ahsaas ho jayega...par aap uske liye bhi apne dil mein koi bair nahin rakhiyega...hum sab ek family hai...jo kuch bhi hua hai humare aapas ka matter hai...hum suljhalenge...par aap please humse gussa nahin hona"...Dev consoled Bijoy who felt cheated by his own blood.

"Dev beta, Sona ne jo kuch bhi kiya uske liye main tumse maafi maangta hoon...meri beti ne tumhari jindagi apni jidd keliye barbaad kardi...main use kabhi maaf nahin karunga...tumhare liye mere dil mein koi hard feelings nahin hai...par aaj se meri beti keliye iss ghar mein koi jagah nahi hai...main yeh samajh loonga ki mere sirf do bete hai...ek Saurabh aur ek tum...Sona ka meri jindagi mein ab koi existence nahin hai"...Bijoy hugged Dev as Dev rejoiced at his victory...Asha who was observing Dev closely felt something amiss...her Sona could never do such a thing...something was wrong which she was missing.

"mumma, who actually main yahaan Sona ka samaan le jaane aaya tha...sab kuch itni jaldi mein hua ki woh apna saaman yehi chod gayi hai...agar aap pack karke de dengi to..."...Dev tried to cajole Asha as he knew she would not mistrust her daughter at any cost..."haan main bass abhi lekar aati hoon...tum yahi baitho..."...she went off still confused about the ongoing things...a while later Dev was handed over Sona's luggage as he left their house after seeking blessings from his in-laws...he was all set to get home and boast about his yet another win infront of Sona.

Back at home Dev walked in all happy, his eyes searched for his target...Sona was nowhere to be seen...had she not come back from college?...no this could not be possible...Dev checked his watch, it was half past 8...she would not stay back at college for so long...Kichu came in to help Dev with Sona's luggage when Dev politely refused his help..."rehne dijiye Kichu Bhaiyya...main le jaunga...koi neeche dikhayi nahi de rahe hai...sab bahar gaye hai kya?"...Dev enquired carefully, he's actual motive was to know about Sona's whereabouts..."Dev bhaiyya woh Papaji office se abhi tak laute nahin...maaji apne kamre mein hai...aur ..."...Kichu paused just at the right time..."aur?...Sona kahaan hai?...abhi tak ghar nahin aayi kya?..."...Dev was getting all the more anxious now.

"aayi hai bhaiyya...dopahar mein hi aa gayi thi...apne samay se bohot pehle...kuch boli nahi...seedha apne kamre mein chali gayi aur tab se kamra band hai...hum khana leke gaye the to unhone koi jawaab hi nahin diya...hume laga ki uh khana khake aayi hongi...to humne unhe pareshaan nahin kiya..."...Kichu divulged the details as Dev started getting worried...why had she locked herself in the room...what if she had...no this can't be...Sona was a strong girl, she can never go to the extent of giving up her life...he had to reach out to her...thinking so he just rushed to his room, with Kichu following suite...even after several attempts, she did not respond to the knocks on the door...finally Dev instructed Kichu to fetch the duplicate keys of the room...as he opened the door he was shocked to see the sight infront of him.

There she lay...her appearance messed, face pale...she had curled up into a cocoon...as if trying to protect herself from the big bad world surrounding her...Dev signaled Kichu to leave them alone as he moved in closing the door behind...gently turning her around he first assured himself that she was breathing...yes she was indeed a strong girl...she can never give up her life...moreover he wanted her to be around him forever...so that he could trouble her all her life...the very next moment he realized she was having high fever...and probably this was the reason she did not wake up even after feeling his touch on her forehead...she was probably unconscious.

Sona was shivering badly and Dev didn't know what should be done to revive her...at that crucial moment what all he could think about is providing her with some much needed warmth...he quickly pulled into his embrace caressing her hair worriedly...pulling out his phone from the pocket he immediately called up their family doctor who promised him to be there within half-an-hours time...what amazed Dev during that waiting period was that Sona had relaxed a bit in his embrace...her condition was getting better and she had also almost stopped shivering...Dev held on to her as if his life depended on her existence till the doctor arrived at Dixit Niwas.

Ishwari had by now come down to the living room as it was time for dinner...she was surprised to see the family doctor walking in all of a sudden..."arrey doctor saab aap yahaan achanak kaise?...koi baat hai kya?"...she inquired as a confused doctor looked on to her blank face..."achanak kahaan Ishwari jii, mujhe to Dev ne call karke yahaan bulaya hai...usne bataya ki uski patni ki haalat kuch theek nahi hai...par tajjub ki baat hai ki aapko iss barein mein kuch bhi nahin pata..."...doctor exclaimed must to her embarrassment..."arrey nahin doctor saab main to bass abhi abhi lauti hoon...bahar gayi thi...ghar lauti to laga ki shayad Dev apni patni ko lekar ghumne gaya hoga...nayi nayi shaadi hui haina...socha disturb kyun karna...par aap jo keh rahe hai agar woh sach hai to Dev ko bohot daant padegi...agar meri bahu ki tabiyat kharab hai to mujhe pata hona chahiye ki nahi..."...Ishwari showed off fake concern for Sona to avoid any revelation about their troubled relationships to an outsider.

Kichu led the doctor followed by Ishwari to Dev's room who was busy rubbing Sona's palms to give her some sort of body heat..."bhaiyya yeh doctor saab aye hain...Sona didi ko dekhne..."...Kichu informed Dev as the worked up Dev Dixit's face immediately lit up with the hope of Sona getting cured..."doctor dekhiye na subah jab college drop kiya tha tab theek thi...phir Kichu keh raha tha ki dopahar ko ghar aayi aur kamre mein aake so gayi...uske baad khaana bhi nahin khaya...shaam ko aake maine check kiya to bukhaar se tap rahi thi...ise to sardi bhi nahin hui thi phir yeh bukhaar achanak se kaise?"...Ishwari looked on offended as Dev explained Sona's schedule to the doctor, all worried for her ..."ghabrane ki koi jaroorat nahin hai Dev...sabse pehle mujhe yeh batao ki tum dono ki shaadi ko kitna arsa hua hai?..."...doctor asked Dev..."jii who doctor bass kal hi hui hai humari shaadi...jaldi jaldi mein sab ho gaya toh..."...Dev tried his best to look innocent.

"phir to bass yehi baat hai ki achanak se iss ghar mein aane se Sona thoda darr si gayi hai...use thoda waqt dena hoga aap sabko...iss ghar ko apnane mein, iske taur tareeke seekhne mein waqt lagega use...lagta hai iss bacchi ne khud ko over exert kar liya hai jiski wajah se ise bukhaar chad gaya hai...main kuch dawai likh deta hoon...woh ise time se de dena...jab hosh aaye to khana khila dena...woh mana kare to bhi bina khana khilaye sone nahi dena ise...mere khayaal se kal subah tak theek ho jayegi yeh...ise jitna ho sake khush rakhne ki koshish karo...agar iska mann ho to ise kuch din mayke bhej do...shayad apne maa-baap se milkar ise accha lage..."...doctor left after prescribing certain medicines and certain piece of advice...Dev turned to sit besides Sona as he heard Ishwari cursing Sona under her breath..."do din hue nahin ki nautanki shuru...ab sab ghumo iske peeche iski chakri karte hue...yeh ladki kabhi nahin badlegi...".

An enraged Dev pulled Ishwari out of the room closing the door behind to avoid any sort of disturbance to a soundly sleeping Sona..."Sona jo kar rahi hai use nautanki kehte hai, aur aap jo kar rahi hai use kya kehte hai maa?...problem kya hai aapki?...aaj se 15 saal pehle bhi aapne yehi kiya tha...bhool gayi aap ki aapke isi bartaav ki wajah se mera aur aapka rishta bass naam ka banke reh gaya tha...tab bhi maine aapse kahaan tha ki Sona ko agar iss ghar mein jara si bhi takleef hui to main chup nahi rahunga...aaj phir se yehi baat dahurane pe aapne majboor kar diya hai mujhe...Sona ne dopahar se kuch nahin khaya...kya kar rahi thi aap iss ghar mein?...aapko yeh tak check karne ki zaroorat mehsoos nahin hui ki woh theek hai ya nahin?...aap bhi insaan ho maa, ek aurat ho...kamse kam iss naate to uska khayaal rakh liya hota...aapko kya lagta hai agar main bimaar hota aur Sona ke ghar pe hota to mumma mere saath aisa karti?...nahin...ulta apne bacchoan se jyaada woh mera khayaal rakhti...ek woh hai jinhe pyaar ke alawa kuch aur dena nahin aata...aur ek aap ho, na khud ke bacche ki fikar hai na kisi aur ki...aakhiri baar keh raha hoon main aapse...agar phir kabhi Sona iss ghar mein bhooke pet soyi to mujhse boora koi nahin hoga...aur mera gussa aap jante ho maa...aap bardasht nahin kar paoge...so aap na sudhar jaao..."...an extremely angered Dev walked back into his room not before ordering Kichu to get their dinner to the room itself, leaving behind a shocked and scared Ishwari.

Firstly thoda confusing update tha.. Yes.. Pehle sona ka behavior and then dev ka PDA.. Lol.. Sach batau i was laughing while reading it.. And woh sona ka dialogue to dev zyada darr dikhane se darr khatam hota hai.. Mujhe achanak Mary Kom film ki yaad aa gyi jaha Priyanka Chopra ne yehi dialogue bola tha.. And this dialogue was superb...

Aab dev ne aur zeher phelaya.. Bijoy ko instigate kiya.. And bijoy iss baar dev ki baaton par bharosa kar gya.. Haww.. Aab kya hoga.. And asha as usual a sensible woman..

Sona ko fever aa gya.. I loved dev ka genuine concern.. And he wants to trouble her all life.. Which means he wants her in his life. Aww.. See.. Hum optimistic log har cheez mein positivity dhund lete hai.. Hai na!!!

And finally dev ka dhamki to that chudail ish.. 15 saal pehle kya hua tha di... O god.. Zarur sona se related hoga..

Aab aapko dev ko burayi ki pits pe leke jaana hai.. Acha.. Aur bhi bura banega woh.. Chalo banao.. Pad lungi sab.. Hazam kar lungi sab..
