Well I don't think people say Maya is never at fault. They say "Maya tried to change" but that change wasn't accepted. Arjun and Sanjh both are easy going unlike Maya but Arjun deserves nor Sanjh neither Maya. These three have different psychologial approach and perception towards life surely based on their past experiences.

Marriage is a demanding relationship that requires work from both sides. Neither Arjun nor Maya were ready for it. In Arjun's case, he needed to become more serious and responsible towards the relationship. He really jumped into it without giving much consideration. Maya's issue is a lot more complex; she actually needed healing and the understanding that love isn't about control before going for a relationship.

Both Arjun n Maya r good. they have made mistakes , true. but mentally they r gone. no elders at home to question/control them. nobody!!

i have a question-- can arya ever b happy after separation?? i know Maya cant. but Arjun- can he forget Maya? will the guy ever b able to re marry? i doubt. he will b alone. after so much trauma . he will need hell of a time to recover . even by chance he marries someone n moves ahead he can never take maya out of his head. she will haunt him forever. such is the impact of Maya.

Amazing post Piyali. Couldn't agree more. I have been thru the toxic relation myself for past 20 years, a Very controlling husband and MIL, always been taunted for my parents, upbringing and my belief. The reason why I am surviving thru this abusive relation as I strongly feel that somewhere I became weak after having my beautiful twins that they need father's love as much as the mother's love. And now he will change, now things will become better. But after bearing for 20 years, I feel 3 more years till kids go to college. Till then just ignore so that it couldn't affect the kids negatively.

Great discussion, and sorry to butt in... but do you really think maya can have a happy ending? With a guy? I'm asking because I'm curious under what cisumstances would that happen? I personally think Maya's happy ending is with her death, as in all her illusions broken and she is back to how she started, a blank white canvas.
