Vibha Chibber is on cloud nine these days. She played the assistant coach to Shah Rukh Khan in Chak De, which was a blockbuster hit and now is portraying the role of a prejudiced mother Kaushalya in Bidaai, which is also a very successful show. We spoke to the actress about both.
The 'Chak De' experience
"It feels great to have been a part of the Chak De team. It was my first commercial movie and became a huge hit. Before doing the role, I was very nervous to work with SRK as most of my scenes were with him but he never made me feel like I'm a newcomer and was so helpful. Whatever he taught me during Chak De I'm implementing it in Bidaai too."
Success of Bidaai
"I was aware that Bidaai would get a huge response from the audience as it is different from the saas-bahu dramas. It's my first daily soap but luckily I got a character which has growth. It has lots of shades and is a genuine mother's character, who thinks that her daughter's marriage won't happen because she is black. Every mother will think the same way. It is very realistic and that is why the audience has loved me so much."
Feedback
"It has been great. I have received a good response from the film industry especially girls from Chak De. Even the audience loves my role and asks me why I don't like Sadhna (fair girl). That's one of the reasons for the success of the show."
Vibha, a product of the National School of Drama, will next be seen in Ram Gopal Verma's Contract.
We wish her more success in both her filmi and television career.
